First one of the latest hat haul. None of the hats were in my size (but one did fit me).
Staalmeester homburg in brown (so I am told). Size 59, with the brim at 5cm and the crown 11,5cm at the center dent. Looks like it's never been worn. Unusual colour for a homburg too.

Another one of yesterday's haul. Mossant chapeau melon in a size 60. Brim at 5cm and crown 13,5cm. No liner and the brim binding is toast (obviously). Still interesting enough to bring it along. The brim binding can be replaced and a liner can be added. Very nice hand to the felt. The shell is still a wee bit lumpy from dents it suffered in the past, but it has good bones as it were.

This was the collect end of another hat-exchange. This one with Gary (@Dotneck ) who couldn't get this one to fit him. He was kind enough to trade it with me. So my thanks go out to him.
Wormser Royal Luxury in let's say "chalk". Size 7 with the bound brim at 6,5cm and the crown 10,5cm at the center dent. I wasn't all that impressed with my first Wormser, but this one makes more than up for it. Gills too! I picture this hat would be the result if my Caxton and Dobbs Hanover Square had a love baby. It's a glorious hat!

Change of colour.
P&C Habig in grey. This one was missing its ribbon, but looked interesting enough to bring along. Size 57 (but I think it's closer to a size 58 - measuring 20,1 x 16,7cm). Brim at 6cm and crown 10,5cm at the center dent.
One of those in between hats. Not exactly a homburg, but very close. Sometimes called "camber". I put on the burgundy ribbon (quite pleased with how that turned out) after I took the pics. Habig hats are dated: 1952.

One more then.
Wegener in dark blue. Size 60 with the brim at 6,5cm and the crown 11,5cm at the center dent. Quite the hat. Lovely hand to the felt and shapes nicely. No label inside the hat (aside from a very small size tag), but Alfred Bender from Frankfurt am Main apparently was founded in 1880, so that would place this hat in 1955. Sounds about right to me.

Very nice! I like them all, but the blue homburg really makes me smile. Oh how I wish it was one size larger.

Ive never seen so many great vintage hats for sale. I can go a year and not see that many accumulatively.

You know I really thought I had found it there for a while, Brent. That thing is massive (to me anyway). Had to look quite a bit to find that tiny size tag saying 60. And the size does match up (you can be sure I measured - Wegener can sometimes run large). Doh!
The search starts like this:

More beauties, Stefan.

Let's continue. Find a homburg in blue: bring it along.
Mayser Milz Karat homburg in dark blue. Size 58 with the brim at 5cm and the crown 11cm at the center dent. Nice find if I say so myself. Mid to late sixties probably.

I'm in the homburg market! Or is this one purely for the collection?
