The bid went beyond 5K within 30 min after it was listed, then was brought down to 1K + and started growing from there. Maybe some crazy collectors got out of control at that point and asked the seller to cancel their bids lol.

Me? I was watching that JCPenney jacket with the original hang tag. Seem like a reasonable price 4 size 42. I just don't buy civilian A2 jackets anymore. This would have been one to buy, brand new.

This off eBay recently. Schott #141 in size 40. It’s nicely broken in. Came with removable liner too and it fits pretty well. Got it for riding and the side adjust tabs and gusseted back are why I went for this one. Not sure of vintage but it has a heavy duty YKK zipper .
