I purchased this Edward's custom hat 201 W. Lake St Chicago and another similar black one about a year ago and they were a mystery to me. The seller actually had a couple more and I kick myself for not picking them up. I tried at the time to find some information but came up empty at the time.
Today I finally solved the mystery of Edward's Hat.

Edward's was owned by Isadore "Edward" Goldflies born in July 12, 1897 in Trambovla, Poland.
He emigrated to the US arriving in December 1911 and became a citizen January 12, 1926.
He and his wife Nellie lived in Chicago until his death in 1970 and Nellie's in 1978.
His Edwards Hats store at 201 W. Lake St Chicago was open from sometime between WWI and WWII until his death in 1970 and by 1973 it was a tire store. (I was able to locate their 1970 & 1978 obituaries, but unable to down load them) 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg 6.jpg 8.jpg 9.jpg 10.jpg 7.jpg

Great research, love the documentation. The hats would fit me, the first one especially looks amazing - quite tall in the front, isn't it? Enjoy your hats!
Thank you, the brown one is amazing, it is in perfect condition. There was a gray one just like it, I kick myself for not getting it too.
