Great question. I have found Mike to be most generous and he includes a lot of extras in his quoted price that other hatters charge out as extras.

The hat is on its way...we have had a terrible spring and an equally bad beginning to summer so I hope to get sun sometime soon so I can wear the damn thing seeing as I cannot travel south to find the sun.

I have yet to get a Panama wet in the rain BUT I do sweat and on many occasions have sweated through the leather, through the straw and drenched the ribbon. I now have ribbons with visible sweat stains on them but never has the colour bled back into the straw.

Thanks, I have several tan felts that I've sweat through. I am keeping my first bone colored Buckaroo Hat more pristine that the other hats I own. I was thinking that blue and white would be an annoying combination.

Red would be worse as it would turn the hat pink.....like my underwear washed with red socks.

Mine is what Mike calls a bright navy blue. I initially wanted a French or Grey blue but Mike showed me this brighter/darker blue that he thought worked better and I agreed the contrast worked much better.
