Adam Hats snap front flat cap. A super thin light weight and airy fabric I will guess is a cotton rayon blend.... or something to that effect. With a satin sweat. The pattern is a beige and white checked pattern with the occasional thin red and bluish green line here and there. I think as cool and airy this hat is... it will get a lot of wear

Cavanagh Hats Flat Cap

F51D02B3-1085-4ECC-A0C0-B7B312FE948D.jpeg

Cotton houndstooth flat cap by Cavanagh hats. The light weight cotton cap has a cool white black and blue houndstooth pattern. It had a foam sizing strip when it arrived that left it a bit too tight. After removing it fit fairly well. A bit snug.. but just fine.

Wow!!! Congrats on that, Bob! That one alone for that price would've been a score.

THAT is too cool.....E&W too!!!!! My wife remembers their Freeport Location!!! I remember Sterling!!!!!
Yes.....pretty cool. If you EVER tire of it!!!!! I know a good caretaker back here in Illinois where it came from!!!!;);););)

22 bucks!! WOW! Great catch! Nice looking Playboy!

Very nice haul, Bob!!! Congrats again!

NICE SCORE THOSE!!!!!!!!!

That one is an absolute beauty

Another tremendous find.

What a score, Bob! I look at some of those auctions sometimes but the shipping issues scare me off. I’m glad it worked out, but I don’t see the size 8! :)

Bob, great score! I love that 2x, red liner with the diamond "O" ! If any of those 7 3/8 Resistols are too tight. I know a guy that can use them, may even have a couple 7 1/2 Red liners for trade!

That's the one that caught my eye in the group photos you posted elsewhere. I might have contacted you about it, but I could tell it was too small for me. Nice haul!

That’s insane!
Over here in Japan we pay about 100 bucks on top of the hat price just for the name Stetson!

Nice haul Bob. I especially like the double X Resistol.

Quite the haul, Bob. Very satisfying to land a bunch of fine hats like that. Congrats.

Gosh ... thanks everyone! I'll make a note of those requests for trades and bequeathals. :D

Clasico Sevillano Sombrero

F267A7A4-EB6A-4209-9DFF-0880515A61B7.jpeg

3 1/2 flat top crown
1 inch grosgrain ribbon
3 inch brim with 1/4 Matching grosgrain binding

This black Clasico Sevillano sombrero originally sold at Goyescas Pueblo Espanol... I believe a shop at an open air market in Barcelona, Spain came to me in a group Of three other hats. It caught me eye as definitely something different. In person this is a very well made hat. The felt is very stiff as I imagine is the intention to keep its squared shape crown and wide snap brim. But it also has a nice hand to it. The sweatband is thick... but rather stiff.. so I did not do any digging underneath.

All and all a different kind of look.. definitely not my preferred style and out of my comfort zone. But a very nice And well made hat.

My new Hornskov just arrived. As I mentioned a couple of days ago on the “What hat are you waiting for?” thread, I went for the wool hat they have on sale to try them out before going for something better.
Well, I must say, I’m very impressed. It’s a different beast from the other wool hats I’ve owned (of which I only have one remaining). The size is 59, but I gave Peter an accurate head measurement and it’s a snug, but very comfortable fit. The plan is for both my wife and I to buy beaver hats from him next. I’m now more excited about that prospect than ever!

Great hat, suits you very well. I own 3 Hornskov hats, 2x 100% beaver and 1x 50% beaver. I really like all 3 of them and wear them very often. Peter is always doing a great job.

One of my favorite brand of vintage fedoras; The Knox Premier. The 'embossed' Custom Edged and Ovalized Sixteenths on the sweatband... I'm guessing late 30s early 40s for this black beauty. 5 5/8 crown, 2 3/8 Custom Edge brim, Ovalized 16ths size tag (from what I hear, the Ovalized tag was first issued and used by Knox in the early 30s). The felt? I'm glad you asked! Almost too soft to hold a crease. The sweatband is as least 2 1/4 inches. I love the 'furry' ribbon appointment on the sweatband.
