What product(oil, conditioner, polish etc) do you recommend/use for Clinch horsehide engineers?

Most any of the noted brands and products will work with these. I like using Pecards however I recently picked up a tub of Obenauf's "Heavy Duty LP" so I will try that on my Lofgren's and let you know how it goes. Both the Pecards & Obenauf's are "semi-solid" product that you have to work into the boots. However they should both work in and be long-lasting.

For more general, daily cleaning & conditioning I like using Bick 1 (Cleaning) and Bick 4 (Conditioning). Being a dual-stage product, I find the products clean very deeply and soften the leather a touch as you condition with them as well.

Obernauf's LP is wonderful stuff. It even smells nice (like honey). I slather it on a lot of my leather stuff. However: be careful using it on light colours- when the leather soaks in all that oil and wax, it darkens significantly. Additionally, leather takes to LP so well that it almost becomes like a pull-up leather for a while - if you were planning to put a shine on the boots after conditioning them, you will be challenged.

I've used a few Saphir products and they have been good - though the pate de lux wax has a nasty kerosene smell. Renomat is a really good cleaner.

Thanks for the reply Justin and AeroFan. I will try Obernauf's and post my results here.

Today I’m infected with the obsession with the side-zip boot. I hesitate to create another thread although i felt the full justification for it. If all think a separate thread is deserved, I’ll create one.
basically, I’m looking for a 70s rocker vibe, a dressy toe, pull on boots, medium heel (or could be higher), with the inside zip. Naturally for me it has to be all black. My impression is the Italians and the Italian Americans do it the best but I can’t find many makers of this style. Would love to hear advises.

I think Frye might be a good company to look up for this. Perhaps also look at the offerings at Standard & Strange - not sure but they may have some options for you sir...

I love those boots, are they wesco boss?

Yep, thanks. Domain brown, nordic brass, double midsole, stacked heel and vintage bump toe last.

After seeing some of the Japanese heel shapes (like yours), I'm toying with the idea of taking these to a local cobbler and asking them to do some gentle reshaping - not an extreme Cuban, but a more pronounced logger/packer heel curver
