This took some time, but I found my first Morreton. I have seen a few before, but their later hats lost a lot of the quality. This is an earlier one.
Morreton homburg chamois finish in grey. Size 56, with the brim at 6cm and the crown 11,5cm at the center dent. Still needs some shaping and steaming, but it was in a bit of a state when it arrived. Morreton is a French maker we don't see that often and a chamois homburg is unusual. Some more in the French hats and makers thread.

Very nice find, Marcel. I don't think it was intended as a real homburg though, even if it has a brim curl. Failsworth did these Stetsons very well. Their homburgs were usually Imperial quality with very tight brim curls. But I really like the style of the one you found; the brim seems a bit wider. Slighty less formal than a homburg; nice!

Nice catch Marcel. Indeed, the brim curl looks similar to a Stetson "made in Norway under licence" that I have. Not really a homburg but something different nevertheless. Maybe a EU only thing?

Here's another recent find. Thought the name Trescher rang a bell (and it did), but the liner is what sold it to me.
E. Trescher fedora in black woolfelt. Size 57 with the raw edge brim at 6cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Some shape to the brim, but the crown is very soft. Certainly pre-war. E. Trescher was called Hut Trescher later. Allright, so it is woolfelt and it needs some work, but man, that liner.

Yes, yours looks similar to mine and mine has a brim you can't snap either. I like the color of yours also very much. Great hats because they are less formal like Stefan said.

Thanks Stefan.
Yes the brim on mine is a bit wider. You are right when you say it is a less formal. That's why i like it more i think.

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Lutra", 56 cm, possibly late 1930s. This is the 7th hat from my recent 9 hat find. This is my first JHS "Lutra" which means European Otter so possibly similar marketing to "Seal Velour". The Felt is really fantastic (color, finish, hand) and very pliable. It's a Trachten style Soft Felt which is also the case for my early Tonak Plant Hückel "Lutra". The Folkish Band is really interesting / unique. This hat was sold by Julius Reiter Eger / Cheb Czechoslovakia (prior to WWI Austria Hungary).

That is a crazy (good!) hat band. Very nice looking hat, too. I like the brown better than the typically green Trachten style hats.

Stetson 3X. @buler informed me that this is a US National Park Service hat. I really like the hat. The ribbon is a favorite too. The hat is in great condition. The crown is approximately 5 1/2 inches open the raw edge brim is 2 1/2” wide. The brim has a considerable amount of flange. It’s vintage western 3X BQ felt.
