Some pictures of my brown cowhide Californian. 1960s according to the ebay listing. Slightly large in the chest I think, but I think it's an acceptable fit. Leather is pretty interesting - it has a pungent cinnamon-spice smell to it, and the leather underneath the dark brown finish is eggplant purple. Very nice. I sense an authentic, old-timey feel to this jacket as you wear it. Dog is super-cute on the last pic.

Plaidness continues. I’m taking this to my Russian tailor tomorrow to have 3” of brown heavy cowhide added to the sleeve cuffs for additional length. Dena is unavailable until after Christmas and this jacket only st me back $29 shipped so I’m not too terribly concerned about the result. Fit other than the sleeves is good.

You really have gone plaid! I really like this one. Great color combo.

Great buy! Californians are the Best. Chrome Tanned Cowhide! Not 60s, more like late 50s. California Sportswear liked their Chome Tanned leather, Horsehide, Steerhide, Cowhide.

GW Cossack on the beach yesterday with popped collar and sleeves rolled up the way I used to wear Jean Jackets.

Back into my 1000 meter swim routine adding the freestyle intermittently. I scarred some poor surfer when I swam by him the other day. You don't see too many people out that far.

Worn today my Schott 674 sherpa lined from the 80s (or 70s). Bought it 80 € only. Very beat up, but no leather rot and all the pockets and hardwares, zipper are good ! 38, which is my size, but still tight, and short (23.5 inches long back only). Wearing it open, it works OK. Closed, well, it is a bit short especialy in winter... Smell not very good, like it comes from an old attic (which must be the case), the sherpa really keeps the odors...

You obviously haven’t googled sharks and Hawaii at the same time. Don’t.

Seriously though, I used to do the same in south Florida. My wife would go nuts. One time I caught a ride back in with some jet skier. Lol. Just to mess with her. Fake exhaustion and all that. And forget about the stupidity and dares in Biscayne bay.

Some guy got eaten on Maui a few years ago, probably a Great White took him. There has been only 1 shark sighting in the bay I swim in, going on 3 years now and it was a fairly harmless Grey Reef Shark

All things must pass.
