Those measurements look awful close for me...but not sure what I'd do about all those lining holes. I'm on the lookout for a smaller jacket I can wear a bunch.

Vanek police jacket, 21 p2p, seller open to offers. Not sure how good the value is, but I don't see many of these jackets around and I've heard really good stuff about the maker.

If you can weaar it I'd say jump on it. That liner is still solid. Through a couple whip stitches in the big hole and wear that thing to death!
Liner damage is not something that would keep me away from a jacket. 'Course I'm the guy who purposefully ripped the lining out of a brand new suede trucker...

^^^I'm with these fellas^^^

When it comes to vintage jackets of that age, you are gonna be hard pressed to find a pristine liner. Not impossible to find intact liners but many of these jackets were worn and hung up on hooks over and over thru their lifetime. Also, one of the stress points for all liners seems to be just below the neck line where stretching the jacket over the shoulder blades putting in on and taking if off excessively wears this area out prematurely. I have many jackets from many makers that all have the same signature wear in the same place. Thin liners will simply tear and quilted will exhibit visible batting etc.

When it comes to jackets like this, in this condition hide wise---the interior "warts" really are not a grave concern for me. I am not saying they should not factor into how you value the jacket and what you should offer for it. But its never a deal killer for me personally. If it was, I would have a lot more money and a lot fewer jackets. As it stands, I would need to sell like-----three kidneys to have all my jackets RE-LINED. Relining is the KING of all jacket repairs and the cost will generally reflect that fact.

The price --- which may likely be somewhat negotiable at this point----would be very worth it to me for a piece like this. I say JUMP ON IT, wear it and post pics to make us all jealous!!!! That's what the lounge is here for!!!!

If it were bigger, none of us would be kindly advising you on this. We'd be ignoring each other and angling to snipe. Lol. Go get it bro!!!

Haha! I'm contemplating. I just ordered up a red Walter Dyer crosszip off eBay that I'm hoping will be a good fit. I might contact the Kit Karson seller and ask for a doublecheck on those sleeves. Might be a hair short.

I saw that Kit Carson on the bay a few days ago.. the sleeve length deterred me from putting in a bid for sure. I thought about contacting the seller as well, to double check sleeves. That jacket is a dandy!

I Love this post Terry. Its fascinating and kind of funny how these jackets get passed around by our little cabal. Between @tmitchell59 and @ton312, 75% of the vintage jackets on the planet have hung in their closets it seems. You add in the ones hanging in @Marc mndt 's closet and that pretty much accounts for 95% of these jackets. We are all just trying to wet our beaks on the remaining 5%. Just the crumbs........ lol
