What is wrong with me?

There's an answer to that, don't reserve them for fancy occasions only.

I wear my jackets to the office, to the gym, running errands, what have you.
I have a couple just for that. The Californian that @Jiaward sent me is perfect for any “regular” day-to-day, the GW for meetings, and the Kehoe gets that “wow” when I want.
Can't emotionally sell the Dominator yet though.

I’ve been a leather jacket addict since 2010, but I haven’t worn one yet this season. I still love seeing all the great jackets you guys find, and I often try mine on and look in the mirror to see if I’m still “cool.”
But- truth be told, when I run out the door I grab my N-1 or my Barbour if it’s raining. If I’m going for a bike ride I put on my puffer or hoodie. I have 10 amazing leather jackets in the closet- a collection I’ve had fun curating, but somehow I just don’t find the occasion to wear them…
What’s up?

Try to get a decent Goretex/Sympatex flatcap to combine with Nappa leather jacket? Rain shouldn't trouble with this combi. Good for shopping.

Keep em all. You don’t have to wear them to keep them. Unless you need to clear out some closet space or something. I’m up to 17 jackets and there are maybe 4 or 5 of them that I wear very regularly and the rest I wear basically only to share them on TFL/justify keeping them/put them on and look in the mirror.
But really, if it gives you joy to put them on and look at them in the mirror, keep them.

You’re wrong here. I love them!
It is more an issue with my lifestyle. I don’t really go out much anymore to fancy restaurants or places where I used to wear them. I don’t work in an office, so that’s out.

You seem to love them as a collection item, and there is nothing wrong with that at all, I wouldn't imply otherwise, but clearly you don't like to wear them, or else you would much more often. You don't need to go out to a fancy restaurant to justify wearing a leather jacket. Putting it on for a few feet as you walk to your automobile, taking it off for the ride, putting it back on in the parking lot to walk to the front door of the restaurant, and then taking it off inside, or not. That is an incredibly niche and short timeframe to wear such expensive attire.

Face it, you don't like to wear them.

Can you post pics of what you have sometime?

I would sell the dominator ( as nice as it is, and it IS nice).. It will backseat to the GW. Both jackets are awfully close overall. I know the dominator has a little more edge to it but the aesthetic of each is very similar from 10’ away.

I might be a more hopeless case here. Living in Germany with medium temperatures I have a lot of chances to wear my leather jackets. I gradually got rid of many casual pieces of clothing to wear elather instead. But I am leath addicted since 1990, with a boost in the last decade. And I now rotrte 16 leather jackets, maybe more. I only sell when gets to 'small', alas.

I don't think it's got anything to do with collecting or disliking jackets.

Personally, the only reason why I was buying leather jackets was to feel good. And I have! Of course, to feel good, the jacket had to be good but yeah, just leaving the apartment in my new leather jacket would have me feeling fantastic and that's what I was chasing this whole time. Sadly, the feeling would subside, sometimes quickly, sometimes it'd take a while and once it was gone... No, once I've gotten used to it as it wasn't ever truly gone, I'd buy another leather jacket to feel that way again, thinking it automatically meant the new jacket was better than the last one and the process would continue to repeat itself as long as there were styles to try out.

But now I am at a point where I know there isn't much else to try out, all the while knowing that no other item of clothing commands my love as much as leather jackets. All this is combined with the feeling that I have finally discovered my own personal style, who I am or want to be and deviating from it by trying something wildly new is no longer an option as I genuinely would not enjoy it.

At the same time, even if the absolute holy grail of leather jackets appeared before me, nothing about it could in any way, shape or form surprise me anymore. Thus, the need to buy another leather jacket and ultimately wear it is... Sort of no longer here.

Another very important point is that... Well, leather jackets are inherently just not fun to wear & I don't believe anyone saying otherwise. They're not. Literally everything else feels better. God knows we don't care much for comfort here otherwise the place would be called The North Face Lounge but this is something to be factored in.

So what I think happened is that you've gotten used to leather jackets and you're reaching for your N-1 over whatever leather jacket you still no doubt love, is the same.

I am definitely not a collector because I absolutely CANNOT STAND having too many leather jackets & especially the ones that I feel have been upgraded upon. These then have to go and like yesterday. I'd literally gift them away if I didn't need the money.

Guys, I think I’m realizing that I am a “collector.”

This isn’t good.
This thread has been an eye opener. Forget leather jackets, just for a moment and step outside the box, as the saying goes. For what it's worth, I do have a couple of rather expensive, leather jackets. But, and this is a serious but, why do I need more sports blazers than is feasibly possible to wear, when everyone is tailor made. Worse, the tailor is Savile Row trained. If you've never heard of Savile Row, Google it, the compulsion might explain why you collect but rarely wear. Think yourself lucky it's ready to wear leather. My addiction has my tailor reaching for the cruise brochures and my bank manager weeping into his handkerchief.

This wraps things up pretty well.
I’ve discovered my ultimate cross-zip (Ralphs-pugh) but I cannot wear it as it’s coming apart, my ultimate cafe racer (Kehoe), ultimate half-belt (GW), ultimate single riders (LL), ultimate suede (Pioneerwear), etc.
I’ve reached the top of my little hill, and I’m not finding that feeling anymore in my search.

Wear my 2020s low-end storebrand black Nappa jacket from "Karstadt" ;) to death. Love this jacket. Yesterday, went for repair and we made one of these ready clue patches on the slice and it worked very well. The colour was so matching, that you only see the patch, when you pay higher attention.

Rest....sleep and be calm.....everything will be alright. Wait it out an just see...

or as Tony says burn it all down..

Seriously, I have the same with watches, and hell they cost a shed load more!!
I wear one maybe two out of a rather expensive collection of 10. Wind it up and take the time.

My favourite time quote (just because) 'Time flies like an arrow.......Fruit flies like a banana...'

I went through a watch phase too. I have 8 or so, but I sold the expensive ones. I realized I was scared to wear them thinking I’d scratch them. Now I wear my 80s Tag almost everyday.
