Not a deal I don’t think. Not even RRL but I love the evolution, character if it’s authentic. If it’s not real It’s a good fake but to me that may it worse.

I don't hate them. The half-belt is a classic style, but I do have an Aero half-belt with nearly useless buckles that undo themselves like it's their job. Function over form is something I'd welcome in this case.

Lol. Yeah if by different you mean different price. Elastic is elastic. I don’t think it matters who put it there.
I had a cool, navy blue CPD jacket with elastic at the waist.
This was a great jacket but I always felt like Paul Blart in it. I’m not saying I’m for elastic like this, generally I am not, because it tends to do what knits do and balloon the torso.
I’m just not sure I’m against it. But certainly I wouldn’t say it sucks except on a Thedi. If it sucks, it sucks, no matter who made a jacket with it, Thedi or otherwise. The notion that a design feature is universally bad except when a maker charging laughable sums for a jacket does it is precisely what’s wrong with this place.
Oh I love elastics on a Halfbelt. That’s different and I actually prefer it to the buckled belt. The waist/hem level elastics I’m just not sure about.

The beauty and comfort of our hides increase with use and age without losing durability, incredible water repellency and protection -- why old manufacturers and riders always preferred Horsehide. (Yet even among originals variations in horsehide quality exist, the difference being that back then there were, generally, excellent and good hides, less crap. Today the field is MUCH narrower and, unsurprisingly, more duplicitous, i.e., cowhide being passed off to unwary as horsehide.)
