Pants you wear with your leather jackets

Still my favorite pair. This leather might be the actual limit of thickness & weight that a wearable garment can be made of.

Though almost comparable in weight and quality are these. Luckily for them, they've got their own thing going on so both of these can happily coexist.

In any case, no particular reason why I'm posting these, only that very soon I won't be able to wear leather pants anymore 'cause summer and all that so just wanted to take some photos before I store them away.

Those are great!!

What brand are they and where are they available??

Thanks

Thank you! They're super cool. Sadly, no brand. Custom made, probably by some leather maker in Austria or Germany long, long time ago. At least that's what I'm guessing 'cause I bought them in Austria (thanks to @MrProper who proxies them for me). That's all I know.

I can tell by the way they're made someone just brought in their old jeans, picked this insanity of leather and the maker did the rest. Old school workmanship to them. The leather is like Horween CXL on steroids. 3mm thick, packed with oils and waxes, while retaining full-grain surface.

Not quite the same cut (yours look like they would sit on the natural waist, rather than a gravity-defying six inches south of it....), but these rather remind me of Jim Morrison.... Everybody thinks of him in black leather because most of the photos were B&W, but my understanding has been that he actually wore brown far more often...

Nice stuff. The hide on your reminds me of how a Horween Chromexcel ages.

@Edward , yeah, these sit right at the actual waist which is a good thing because were they low-rise, there's no way they'd stay on your hips due to how heavy they are. The belt is an absolute must on these pants.

I first realized Jim wore brown leather pants on that famous photo shoot with the orange/red background. But yeah, it isn't a well known fact and he's always associated with black leather pants. Even in the movie, Val Kilmer is wearing black ones.

Update on the meanest leather pants ever made. Or at least the meanest I ever had. There's actually zero update as it's impossible for these to show any visible wear within a few months, how massive the leather is so this is just an excuse to post more photos of them.

The talk of leather pants in another thread reminded me to take photos of my other pairs for absolutely no reason whatsoever so here they are.

Starting off with my 2nd favorite pair by Stark aus Leder, Germany based maker, one man show, that won't make you anything before meeting you in person.
I bought them used on eBay, had to have them altered twice but the result is so good I'm actually forced to sparingly wear them, fearing they might get damaged. Which is stupid of me because these pants are made from 1.6 - 1.8 mm leather, according to the maker.

Next up, a pair I picked up on Vinted, one that wasn't really cheap. Some guy had these based on some 50's model of Lee jeans and while this seemed like a good idea, the problem is that whoever made these, decided to use some kind of ungodly leather, so thick and stiff that walking in them was next to impossible.

Months of wear & endless tumble drying sessions made them somewhat pliable, enough so that I could have had them narrowed. Being based on 50's jeans, they were stupidly wide and while that's fun with denim, with leather it looks weird.

These bad bois I'm saving for special occasions and let me tell you, these are a powerful artifact in their own right. Made from thick, red leather. No knee seams. 70's bell bottoms (@ton312 , you might dig 'em!).

I'm also using them as my perfect weight check and sadly, right now they're telling me I'm too fat but this will change because the rewards wearing these pants bring are far greater than anything food can do for me.

It takes some serious testosterone to wear leather pants with ease and not have them wear you.
Around here, you are the man, Ivan!!

I bought some custom horse ones you’d love, thinking i could wear em, but at my age…i’ll never let myself be that old MF wearing leather pants.
At your age…hell yeah!
I love that these are gorgeous brown and not the usual black.
Epic Ivan, roll on!!
B
PS: the reds….only you.

Thank you, Abba! I appreciate what you said.

Let me see the horse ones! Tho you know what; Age matters, sure but only as far as how you feel about certain something and if you ain't feeling it - Like I don't feel moto jackets anymore - that's as good a reason not to wear them as any. Additionally, with leather pants, it's all about one (simple) thing - Built. If you ain't lean... Maybe wearing leather pants is one decision worth re-evaluating.

But you are lean and if for no other reason at all, least of all me thinking you'd look fantastic in 'em, I say go for it! My wardrobe right now consist only of sweaters, boots and leather pants because ultimately, that's all I ever wanted to wear.

Plus if this guy can do it and look this cool...

You are kind Ivan.
I’ll wear pretty much whatever i like and never think about what others think. If the horse pants were just an inch smaller here and there i’m sure i’d pair em well with my usual stuff. If for no other reason then how they feel. Glove soft and well…they just hold you. I’m sure you know the feel.
I’ll have to put em up, maybe in the leather pants thread.
Maybe i’ll dig out that white suede jacket and elephant bells with cuffs i had built back when i was your age.
I still f***in love that 1974 outfit. Lol
