Shudde Bros. Hatters in Houston

I've posted this elsewhere but thought it would be interesting for the Shudde Bros thread. It’s an OR-style Stetson with an embroidered liner and Shudde Bros on the sweatband. It has some atypical date indicators but I’m leaning towards it being a 60s or later hat.

Shudde Bros Beaver hat. Has 3 1/2 inch bound brim and 5 1/2 inch open crown. The seller said Shudde told him this was an older hat that was refurbished about 1976, and that the red, white and blue bow on the sweatband was something Shudde did to celebrate the 1976 American Bicentennial. However, nothing about this hat says older to me and it's pretty stiff, so I believe it's a hat made about 1975, because the hat box has 1975 Post Office stamps. The hat looks like it was never worn.

A 3X Beaver hat from Shudde Bros. It says it's made in Texas and has a Self Conforming sweatband. Does anyone recognize the paper tag fragment? Is this a Resistol hat? It's on eBay and the seller said there's no other tags.

I think it's a Byer-Rolnick product since it has the trademarked "Self-Conforming" stamp. No idea about the factory sticker as I have no older Resistols. You might check into the other B-R lines to see what type of stickers they used.

I had a 1940s Resistol with that type of tag.

Seems like I’ve seen other brands using something similar though.

That is real similar, except with the size on the opposite side. I had thought about such tags, wondering if it was something like that. Did your hat also have a green Resistol tag?

I came across your post when I was also researching this hat. I went ahead and took a chance on it as I also suspected it was a Resistol.
I just received it today and wanted to let you know that your suspicion was correct and they it is indeed a Resistol.
