Thanks Stefan! The Scott is very nice. Thin, lightweight felt, quality build, etc. The PR is OK, but suffered a poor rebuild somewhere along the line (ribbon riding high, exposing the badly re-sewn sweatband stitches).

is lock and co still worth getting a hat from in the UK or would u say else where now a days/stick to vintage/
Although I'm very much a fan of Lock and Co, I'd say go vintage. For the price of one of their hats, you could get a couple of quality vintage ones.
Alternatively, try one of the new hatmakers. There are some really good ones around.

I agree with Steve, but I also bought a new hat from Lock & Co 11 years ago. A Sandown tribly still in production.
I wore it constantly, in Seattle rain storms, snow storms in a sand storm in Qatar. Just let it dry, steam, brush and like new.
Then 10 years later I got a few small holes in the pinch from too much recreaseing I think. Also some grease spots, like acne from being abused and handled.
I sent some photos to Lock & Co asking if anything could be done. They Said send it. They would do whatever was possible at no charge!!
I sent it and got it back to day. They sealed the holes, and reinforced from inside any furfelt that had gotten thin. They cleaned it, replaced it and sewed in a new satin liner. It didn't come with a liner but they thought it would look better. All repairs took less than 2 weeks and we're completely complimentary.
You can't buy that kind of service very much these days. If at all.

Looking closely you can see where the holes have been sealed, but I sincerely think they they did some miracle work here. And I have to; in all sincerity; recommend Lock & Co's quality and they stand that quality behind for life!!

Looks like they did a fine job, too.
T&W Lees homburg in black. Size 57 with the bound brim at 6,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. I say homburg, but this one is not the traditional homburg, but leans towards a more western style with a somewhat wider brim and more of a pencil curled brimfinish. Squarish crown on it. Made especially for Dutch retailer Hollenkamp.
All the usual T&W Lees quality is there. I don't find enough of these T&W Lees hats, which is a pity.

English mystery brand hat that came to me thanks to Marcel @Pellie .
Vroom&Dreesmann fedora in a warm grey colour called "cement". Size 56 with the overwelt brim at 6cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. The hat has a pronounced shape to it that I like for it (can't seem to change its mind anyway). Don't know the colour the ribbon used to be but I'm keeping it despite its discolouring. I'm guessing this might be pre-war. I have two hats with the same label, both older bowlers. As for the manufacturer I'm leaning towards Moores as they did hats for retailers and under other brand names. And the decoration on the label looks like a row of m's (I'm stretching here). Vroom&Dreesmann were a Dutch retailer from 1887 until 2015.
And 17000x: now that's some beaver content!
