What size ****** will fit in the interior pocket that Thedi is known for?
My size small 36 Evander can easily fit my Sig 365XL with Holosun optic.
The pocket measures 5" at the zipper opening and is 8 " deep.
All of my smaller *******s fit easily. Bodyguard 2.0
S&W 642
Walther ppks
The pocket goes all the way to the jacket hem. The holster shaped leather panel with the pen holder slot is just a decoration on top of the lining.

I'm not Joe Quickdraw but for those of us that haven't seen or used that pocket... do you find that pulling your weapon out becomes reasonably smooth with a little practice? It looks like it might be a bit of a goat rope.

That pocket has always looked to me like a fashion/design choice, not meant for an actual weapon (I would be surprised a Greek would design that with an actual *** function in mind).

If you want one for an actual ***, why not check Vanson? At least a couple of their jackets (Highwayman and Chopper) have a "concealed carry weapon pocket" (which is mental to me as an European):

I don't even have a water ***, but the pocket totally feels meant for a weapon. When I got the Highwayman I actually went to check Vanson's website because I thought right away the pocket felt made for a *** and wanted the confirmation.

Many made in the USA jackets and coats have a concealed carry pocket. My outback trading jacket came with one. Usually they have a generic velcro strap or elastic installed in the pocket. This one size fits all does not really work out that well. The retention system that works well with a revolver may be terrible for a ******. Practice with the system your going to use is always the key to effective and safe deployment. It is certainly not the ideal set up. Having the correct pocket holster inserted in the pocket and dedicated practice with it could save your life in an emergency.
Unfortunately we have 12 year old kids and younger roaming around with stolen *******s looking for a victim. The police take the weapon if they are caught and turn them over to the parent. They steal another weapon and are back at it the next day if nobody is killed. Last week it was a local 10 year old car jacking. The parents send the kids out because the kids don't get in trouble. Its how the parents make a living.

I already have a few Vanson jackets and several others as well though none w/ that pocket. No Hektor though and one's been on my mind.

@Eagledog ...thanks for the demo. That looks a hell of a lot more practical than I'd have ever guessed. Thank you.

Quick question for leather jacket sizing differently for more of a t-shirt fit versus a jacket suited to heavy layering. I found a great cafe racer that really caught my eye. I think it probably would not be a great fit going off of what I generally look for, but am thinking it might be a good layering option. Additionally it has a quilted lining, which most of the time is better insulated than a cotton lining? The sleeves and body length are within a well fitting range for me, just a touch on the lengthy side of that range. Additionally, it doesn't appear to be an overly fitted pattern without to heavy of a taper. The following are the measurements.

Body length: 24" back front length 25.5" (I usually like around a 24.5" length)
Sleeve length: 25.5" (most of my jackets have this sleeve length)
SHOULDERS: 20" (my t-shirt fit is closer to 19")
PIT TO PIT: 23.75" (my t-shirt fit is closer to 22.5". I have chest measurement 41")

The shoulders and pit to pit are where it certainly gets outside of my standard range. With say a thicker shirt and maybe heavy wool sweater layers underneath might this possibly be an ok layering fit?

-Cheers

I would say you need to try it on. Cafe racer that is designed for riding is set up for arms forward in the riding position. If you are walking around it's not so great and will really pull across the peck muscles and arm holes area unless it is oversized. Measurements don't help very much. It is the position of the neck opening, shoulder slope, arm holes height, and position the sleeves are set in the arm hole that make it wearable or not.

Fair enough, that's a valid point. Trying it on won't be possible in this case as it is an Ebay auction.

Can anyone tip me to a quality maker using a lightweight natural leather? I’m struggling to find an option beyond Mister Freedom and, though I do like those jackets, I’d rather something zipped. A couple of Y2 options come close but they are expensive and difficult to get here in the UK and I have my doubts about how well they’d work for me.

Tenjin is known for using natural leather in various styles.

Double Helix also offers natural leather in any styles, but it’s hard to find used ones.

Rainbow Country did some CR natural leather.

High Large Oklahoma /Fine Creek Richmond were natural leather A-1.

Aero did some natural leather styles.

If you go custom, there are a lot of options (but they aren’t cheap): Thedi, Mark Grether (UK), Himel, Peter’s Tailored Made, Black Palms Hayama, etc.

Thanks - some nice looking options on Tenjin that could work, though it looks like a 12 month lease time. Keen to avoid going custom if I can avoid the added cost, but might go for Aero if they run an offer on the customs.

Some aviator styles are available in Kangaroo leather. Doesn't get much lighter and stronger than Kangaroo.

I wonder if there's something inside the pocket to anchor a trigger guard to. I carry a G48 and sometimes a G43X and depending on your handling habits there's either a great safety or none at all... and I'd like to stay out of category II. Is there any provision for attachment inside the pocket of the Thedi version?

Use a pocket holster.
If you use a tethered trigger guard you can pin it somewhere.
