I want to replace/repair the zipper on my AMF Harley jacket and want to keep it as OEM as possible. Do i have to replace the zipper itself - which works perfectly - or can i get the rings somewhere? Picture of functioning zip for reference.

Not sure which jacket you're referring to, but those slits (like below) are generally for mobility to reach forward with your arms.Q re: fitment and P2P ease:
I have several leather m/c jackets, a few aviator jackets and a LW leather pea. The fit of each genre is clearly different and I'm considering a jacket style that I don't have now and never have had. I'm assuming it fits differently as well.
I normally wear a US 46 in a CR, cross zip or other m/c jacket. I'm thinking about a Thedi that's in the classifieds and what Thedi calls an **L appears to be in the neighborhood of a 46 but it sure doesn't have much ease in the P2P measurement. Is it that the vertical slit in the mid-back makes up for the missing P2P ease or should I have reason for concern beyond the norm?
My 46's don't have a lot of extra room for error and I'd prefer not to make a 4 figure mistake. There's no way for me to try one on. Your thoughts?
Yeah, apologies. Really didn’t know how to word it, so thanks for the clarification and suggestions.Your post is a bit confusing to me.
Do you want to replace your zipper or do you just want to add the chains to the pull? If the latter, then EagleDog has an excellent suggestion. Or you might find them online. If the former, that is a major project best left to a professional.
For future reference, the parts of the zipper are the tape, the chain (or the teeth), the slider, the pull and the stops. The pull is easy to replace; the others, not so much. Although, if you are comfortable removing the bottom stops, the puller is also easy to replace.
I have a scuba diving wetsuit that has zero extra p2p space and I have no trouble reaching for something in front of me. It doesn't have an action pleat in the back. The overall pattern is what gives you mobility or not. My Thedi Evander has no pleat in the back and does not need it. My bates CR is only comfortable in the riding position. Walking around the Bates is a straight jacket. The center pleat on the Memphis is 99% for looks. It isn't needed for mobility. I ordered a Memphis with the Evander back panel because I didn't want to feel the extra material down the center of my back while sitting. Especially since it isn't needed to ease pulling across the back while reaching forward. Because it doesn't pull to begin with.Q re: fitment and P2P ease:

Wetsuits are normally made of elasticated material, so I would say that the comparison with leather jackets is perhaps not ideal.I have a scuba diving wetsuit that has zero extra p2p space and I have no trouble reaching for something in front of me.
I was just comparing with my 1/4" nylon 2 side cold water / ice dive suit because that is all I have experience with. It has very little stretch. A stretchy warm water suit would be an apples to orange comparison. I should have made it clear that I was talking about a material that has very little stretch.Wetsuits are normally made of elasticated material, so I would say that the comparison with leather jackets is perhaps not ideal.
But otherwise you're certainly right. For me: not too much space P2P, high armholes, sleeves that can slip are what I can move well in.
It looks like a woman's jacket with the slender arms. And the direction the neck snap goes. You would have to see what side the zipper is on. In the USA women's zippers are left handed, but not always. I know some men's jackets can be left handed too. Fjallraven men's jackets are left handed. If it fits the girls I would just call it uni*** and not worry about it. Just enjoy wearing it if it fits. How likely is it that this Kadoya is a female jacket? Waist seems pretty hourglass shaped. Sweet looking back.
It's rather cheap so I thinking about gambling and seeing if it would fit my wife, my sister or her teen daughter haha. 40cm shoulders, 61 back, 64 sleeves, no ptp stated.

Yes to all...Fit issue:
An area i often have problems is the arm holes. They can dig into my pits. Is this a function of sleeve placement, arm hole diameter, or shoulder width.
