A "post" means anytime one comments on a thread or starts a thread.
"Open Forums" means outside the classified section, but honestly, none of us has time to go hunt for your posts to see where they are.
While we respect any membership of several years duration, the 20 post mark is an easy one to hit. Please just say "nice hat" somewhere and get to twenty, even if you've been here since FDR's third term.

Couldn't you just restrict the Classifieds for people with >20 messages? Either hiding it completely or just not allowing posts in it until you hit that threshold?

With an uptick in new members who are here either to just sell things or to relieve other members of their cash without supplying the goods, we will remove any classified post by anyone who hasn't taken the time to get to know the forum and all it offers. You'll need 20 posts at a minimum to participate in the classified forum as a seller from here on out.

Ive just posted my first for sale, unsure if I meet this criteria though, is there a way I can check? Thanks!

Unfortunately that is not yet an option within the underlying platform architecture.

Look at his latest activity. He came in here trying to sell something, had the ad removed and was told he needed twenty posts. He did them all in 15 minutes. Stuff like, someone wanted a pair of Vibergs, so he said "I don't have any." Straight down classifieds like that.

There has been at least one other member with less than 20 posts doing something similar recently i.e. making short, pointless comments which add nothing to the thread.
I guess it would put even more work onto the mods but in an ideal world such posts would be deleted to keep reducing the members post count or the members account could just be deleted/suspended.

So, within just 1 day Lukken has posted an item for sale (which was removed by the mods due to low post count), they then made 20 short, pointless posts before listing 2 items for sale in the Classifieds.

Clearly here to just sell and not contribute.

I don't remember if I've directly bought/sent somebody money directly from here, why not post something here for sale, but it's actually on ebay/grailed? I think subconsciously that's what I assumed was going on here behind the scenes..... I think anything I've ever put on here as for sale, it was actually on ebay/grailed and I was kinda just letting people know about it on here....

I don't think there's anything wrong with coming on FL just for the classifieds, it's still people coming on here and using the site for whatever they need. I'm on here a few times a day looking for jackets, and there's not even enough jackets on here for sale! (I know it varies lol) The goods in the classifieds isn't just the seller 'using' or 'taking' from the community: The more posts there are for stuff for sale, the more info I'm learning in regards to jackets I don't have (yet), different variations/leather types, etc.

Well, it’s the community that defines its rules, not the visitor.

This one is driven by sharing the knowledge on outerwear and related pieces. Selling and buying is an afterthought to that.
