I’m sure this has been covered in the last 273 pages but does anyone own both Role Club 1940 and 1945 and want to share their thoughts or comparison pics
Fit-wise they are fairly similar; the 1940 is a little snugger at the instep. I have a fairly high instep but prefer the 1940. Might be specific to my foot but the 1940 just feels a bit snugger and locked in. I can try to take some pics of anything in particular if it would be helpful.

Thanks. Brian said the same. The extra good news is that i’m going to have an opportunity to be sized in person
That’s even better then! One thing I might have done in hindsight, is to have gone with extra toe room, just for aesthetics/toe collapse. Like exact same size but 1cm longer in toe or something.

Just personal preference. I think he intentionally makes these to fit without much extra toe room. Just throwing out there as something to consider.

Klondike one is also available at Amsterdam online store.

The lady who runs Rugged West posted a pair of these he's just bought from RedWings' London store on IG the other day. They look great in the wild. Be interesting to see how they wear over time.

I'd had the impression RW were getting out of the EB game around the same time as Chippewa decided to focus on their knee-high versions and not do the classic, shorter boot stock any more. Hopefully I either got that wrong or they've changed their minds... I have a pair of the regular RWs in black that are great, and Chipps in brown and dark cherry, the latter the shorter style. The Red Wings would look fantastic in that dark cherry / oxblood colour they do some of the heritage workboots range in.

Anybody ever had a pair of Engineer Boots from Georgia Boots? Look quite similar to a Red Wing 2268. Been looking to get some new black engineers and they look decent with cord soles and all, but I’ve no idea if they are worth it or not

I find the 11 inch height very comfortable and wouldn’t want shorter myself. Also if you sit or rest a foot on your knee or something, I think pants will come over the top of the boot.

I wouldn’t go shorter than 10” but that’s just me. (Also, the midsoles on those junkards.… I just don’t get it.)

In theory, they look the same under jeans but are a bit easier wearing with the shorter length.

I have a shorter pair I like when the weather is warmer. 10" or 11" is great when it's cooler, but in the heat they store and awful lot more hot air, and then bellows it up my leg as I walk. Never had a problem with trews catching on them - caveat, I like a wide leg. If you wear a narrower jeans that sits closer the boot, that's when catching can happen in my experience.
