Leather Trucker Levi's / Lee / Type-whatever jackets!

I bought one of the Gap truckers that are so highly rated here - it's a great jacket at a very modest price, but unfortunately the XL is too big for me. Before I list it, I would anyone be interested in a straight swap for the same jacket in Large?

I'm hoping someone might have some alternatives to this jacket style. This is a repro of a 60s levis type three roughout jacket that I have always loved and been searching for. I bought this immediately when I saw it released by The Real Mccoy's. The roughout and build quality of this is phenomenal, however I don't wear it often because the fit tapers pretty extremely. On it looks baggy up top while I can barely button the bottom button around my waist.

Does anyone know of any alternatives in a similar color/leather combo with the sienna/tobacco rough out body and black horsehide collar that might have a less tapered fit?

LVC did their own repro back in 2013 but its not one I've seen for sale often.

I bought it for $300. Very interested to see it in person. It looks like Aero has been building these for levi's to their specs throughout the decades and Levi's added their label to it.

I'm interested to see it side by side with the Real Mccoy version. This one is definitely a more tame color, but i'm thinking it will tan to a more bronzey color with sun exposure. Levi's type 3 jackets usually fit me a lot better than this real mccoy jacket does so hopefully this will be the same. Thank you again for linking that jacket!

It's one of my favorite Levi Type 3s- the Italian suede hits a real sweet spot and I've got compliments when wearing mine. I'll be interested to hear how you like it.

The medium cut on this jacket it a bit odd- on me it's perfect in the shoulders and chest, and a decent length in the arms...but a bit on the tight side in the waist. I also own the Italian Levi shorthorn type 3 suede dark chocolate brown in a size large. And it's just too big in the chest on me. It's a beautiful heavy suede- just wish it fit better.

Just scored this vintage Levis Big E Type 3. There's a bit of wear and scuffs, but overall it has plenty of life left. These are getting hard to find in a larger size.

The slightly-too-short sleeves of my size M Gap trucker had been bothering me, so I picked up an L (thanks again @barnabus for the tip) hoping it would be an inch or so longer in body and sleeve. Boy was I mistaken…

Thought I'd do a quick comparison between the M and L as I don't think I've ever seen such a large discrepancy between two sizes before:

The shoulders on the L are 2" (5cm) wider than the M… the sleeves are nearly 2" (4cm) longer and the front is nearly 2" (4.5cm) longer. According to the tags, the M was made in 1999 and the L in 2000, so unless there was a big redesign between those years, I guess they just had a wild jump from size to size.

It seems, sadly, that I'm between sizes in these. I'm keeping the M, I'll live with the sleeves, but expect a listing for the L in the classifieds shortly.

The large fits you perfectly IMO. Ofc, fit is subjective and I can't know how it feels on your body.

Strong disagree. Shoulder seams slumping inches past my actual shoulder, two inch neck gap, sleeve cuffs pushing down on my thumb knuckle, jacket front hanging six inches below the belt… in no universe should a type 3 fit like this.

Being able to easily slip a jacket on over another of the same jacket and button it up comfortably… i dunno, I feel like we can all agree that's a sign of a jacket that's maybe a bit too large:

Back in the 90s, this was exactly how the type III was worn: droopy shoulders, long body, relaxed fit.
