So after watching this set I have to say it should have been marketed as a "Wild Bill" Wellman box since a lot of what I love about pre-codes is missing here - c'mon TCM, get back on track for volume 4 and give us Illicit, Ladies They Talk About, and Call Her Savage for starters!
The Wesco horsehide 40's repro engineers retail for $1200 - that's alot more than the Lone Wolf engineers, if we're comparing apples to apples.
How are they overrated? I've never seen/worn/handled a pair and would appreciate the feedback!
Jeez, I'll have to call my Mom and see how she's holding up! She's reminisced about listening to this on radio in the 40's as a kid (GL is one year older than she is!) - and she's watched it religiously since getting married in 1959. I'd bet that after video came along she hasn't missed a single...
These are supposed to be among the best 30's - 40's work boots available - previously only in Japan:

Never seen a pair in person but they look fantastic!
It struck me that these great Perry pics are in a piss-take thread started by a member who has since been banned - how about putting them HERE http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?t=25447 instead! Then we can keep one comprehensive Good Wear thread going...just a thought...
No - They have the rights to the name but the original company was based in Beacon NY (see pic). The current Aero Scotland is actually the Transatlantic Clothing Company.
