    Louis Prima!

    How about a tip o the hat as well to Louis great bandleader Sam Butera!! Sam could dance,sing,crack wise and blow the horn with the best of them,all the way up until a couple years ago when he retired.

    Ultra Lounge!

    I have the whole set as well.Dont forget the 2 cd "On the rocks" and the artist volumes..Louis Prima,Bobby Darin,etc.Also falling under the "Ultra Lounge"catalog as well are the great 2 cd sets from Jackie Gleason,Les Baxter and Martin Denny. If i had to pick faves id say the first 2 christmas...

    Great Pianists of the 20th Century

    Dont know if i saw Bill Evans mentioned,i love his'Everyone loves Bill Evans" album. When Jimmy Rowles first heard a Art Tatum recording he thought it was TWO GUYS playing!! Art also loved baseball stats and Pabst blue ribbon beer.His place in my heart has been cemented.

    Love me some Lavay! Ive seen her in NY,NJ and on her home turf at Biscuits and blues in SF.You just cant go wrong with either of her cds either,both are great. Dont miss STOMPY JONES out on the west coast!Just about the smoothest swinginest outfit around!
