I recently picked up several Monte Cristi panama hats, from Milton Johnson's "Monte Cristi Hat Works" of Santa Fe, N.M.
I'm hoping to get some input as to the likely age of these hats, and also some intel on the pencil markings on the straw, located under the sweat-band around back.

I picked up a pretty swell Eddy Bros stockman 4" brim 5x hat today at the flea. Strange to be typing this, but I got a perfect peak crease by blocking the hat backwards. yup, the seam in the sweatband is front and center. darndest thing i ever did see, but it looks too perfect to mess with it...
