Again, please FORGIVE ME if this has been asked before, as I'm sure it has. I do, in fact, often have trouble finding an exact topic I'm interested in, but given enough time I'll usually find it. Trouble is, I don't have that much free time lately. Just thought I'd throw out the quick question...
Hey guys,
Forgive me if there is a thread on this somewhere, I couldn't find one. I just bought a cool, gray stingy brim felt fedora from ebay. It's obviously very old, but has lots of life left in it. Problem is, it SMELLS very old, ha ha! Can you get these dry cleaned? My plan was to dry...
Autumn brings to me creativity. I tend to write songs, draw and reflect on things more. It conjures up thoughts of sitting by the fireside sipping a glass of Laphroaig, and strumming the six string. Summer tends to drain all of that out of me. By the way, it was 113 here in Tulsa yesterday. Oy.
Thanks, Talbot. I need to check on that. I'm having trouble finding a good, "vintage" watch person here in town. Everyone just wants to sell me a new one. Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to own a Breitling Navitimer, but its completely out of my range. Plus I dearly LOVE these oldies. The Elgin is...
Mario, Its an FT-570BL Epiphone Blonde Jumbo. I wish it was a 1930's Martin, but alas. I do have a Taylor Koa GSK ordered, and it should be here any day now. Thanks for listening to all!
Whoah, how bad is it when they get wet? This will sound completely stupid, but....is there wire in the brim to help hold the shape? I will look on eBay again. Thanks for the advice!
Hey all, aside from loving everything vintage and historical, I am a musician. Not by trade, unfortunately. I spend a lot of my time recording songs at home and I thought you might enjoy this. Its a traditional Celtic acoustic number called "Night Visiting Song". Arranged by Kate Rusby. Enjoy...
Thanks for the advice, Ed and everyone. I did some more research and came up with this little number. It knocked the wind out of me. What do you guys think of this one? It looks to be a pretty close match to the fedora worn by Morgan Freeman in "Shawshank Redemption". It's the classic English...
Here's my military issue 1944 Hamilton (18 jewel). It runs like a top.
And my 1923 Elgin Pershing commemorative (8 jewel, pre-restoration). It runs like a top as well, but I need a replacement case for it, its cracked where the pins sit in it.
I can. These are the best I have. Man, it's hard to get a good picture of a movie from a tv. Thanks for the help.
And I did find this one at the Hollywood Hat Lounge. They list it in brown, but I cannot get them to send me pictures of it in brown. I've sent 2 emails and called them twice...
I'm a big fan of single malt Scotches. My wife bought me a bottle of Laphroaig 10 year cask strength a couple of years ago, and whoah-nelly, Was it good! I like Talisker and Ardbeg as well, but I really like the peaty, smokey, slightly salty goodness of Laphroaig. If you haven't had a chance to...
