I would wear #2, and kinda like the first.

The rest are tacky as hell, but they don't run away with it. IMO.

No labels whatsoever. No keeper, 56". Probably polyester (certainly not silk) so I suspect 70's with tags taken off sometime in the past.

The wood grain dates from the 50's. Don Loper lining, tag from a Robert S. Atkins in California. That one I'm holding onto- bit of a novelty. It's the only wood grain tie I have ever seen or am likely to see, so despite the tacky factor, I'm going to keep it around and work up the courage to wear it one of these days.

Oh, and the peacock featherish one looks to be homemade, so there's no dating it. Someone used the scrap fabric box to create the most garish necktie on God's green earth.
Come to think of it, why on earth was that fabric ever produced anyway?

The fabric was originally for a bedspread. ;) :p
Uh, yeah. I think I'll just keep the ugly I have rather than trade it around. ;) :p

Well, I suppose if we take some good pictures and get some decent vintage ties---before 1965---then we might have something. What may be ugly to some might be great to another. I actually like the loud 40s ties that have the big bang patterns. :D
Maybe we need a Trade That Tie thread or some such thing. :D

Well, this dude has another title under his belt. A local store was having an ugly contest this weekend (you can always find someone having one around Fathers Day). It got me twenty-five bucks! :D

He is dear and true to my heart, though....;)
