To me, it's a matter of degree. Putting tiny pinholes into certain parts of my body, my ears, to be specific, is acceptable. Inserting a bagel into my forehead is not. That's for both my own body, and looking at others. I don't even want to look at a bagel face, never mind be one.

Tattoos, on the other hand, tend to look good (for the most part) on other people. I don't, however, want one on myself.

Never fear, "Bagel Head" is a "nonexistent trend":

http://www.mstarz.com/articles/5300...s-and-glorifies-a-nonexistent-fashion-fad.htm

"many Japanese people didn't even know about "bagel head" until reports from overseas began hitting the net."

"According to La Carmina, the trend was extremely exaggerated in the popular television series: "It is not a trend even among the most hardcore body modification types. It's expensive. It takes specialized equipment. Most Japanese people don't even know about it."

I've seen these before, since I have an interest in body mods, but I still think that it looks really ugly, uncomfortable, potentially dangerous and deforming and can't imagine why anyone would want to do this. I feel the same way about some other more socially acceptable implants/injections such as breast enhancement, and botox injections too. I love my tats and plan on getting more. I love my piercings, but I really don't want it to look as though I tried to stop a bullet with my forehead.
