all this talk about Aeromarines, Simmonds-Builts, Peter-pan and shawl collars inspired me to buy an LVC Menlo Cossack jacket, I found one NWT in size XL, the jacket length and sleeves are great, but the guys in the 1930's must have had pipe cleaners for arms cause these sleeves are tight on me! any way heres a few pics:

I've been wearing it out and around and nobody's laughed at me yet, so hopefully I can pull it off as I really like this style jacket.

That's the way I like a jacket to fit(whatever style it is). Yep.. the arms are tight. Maybe you could wet the upper sleeve and stuff something bigger than your arms in them until dry to stretch them out somewhat..?

Indeed. Go to BevMo or the like and find some bigger glass bottles that start slim and get larger. Soak the arms and put the bottles in there - bring the jacket to make sure the bottles will stretch a bit. They look at you funny, but so what. I got that tip from the MIA JanSolo and it works great.Soak them in hot water, shove the bottles in, and let the sleeves get dry - depending on the weather, it could happen in 24hours or less. Cool jacket. Stop "pumping" those arms man lol

I have the same jacket and have had the goatskin version for 5 years or so. It's a warm very comfortable jacket, perhaps not the best finish, but great value.
You need to stop doing bicep curls...

The glass bottle treatment sounds like a good shout to me, be interesting to see your 'after' pics. Good luck!

nice jacket Boyo what leather is that [\QUOTE]

The label states the leather is "Bovine" ??? So I'm reasoning it is some type of cow/ steer hide. The leather is soft with a pleasant feel to it, but it does feel substantial, and reasonably heavy. The color is pretty close to how the pictures turned out.

Butte, my wife drinks enough wine, that finding a few bottles to stretch the sleeves shouldn't be too difficult... I was thinking of just stuffing the sleeves for the couple of months I won't be wearing the jacket, (without the hot water treatment first) and see where I'm at in the fall? Even though I probably shouldn't be I'm a little concerned with intentionally soaking a jacket.

I briefly had one of these too (before buying the goatskin Menlo Cossack).
It's a nice jacket (supple and thick), but a bit heavy for my taste.

Good lookin' jacket Boyo... I know about tight arms. But I've none quite THAT tight. Leather does stretch and it's in the 70's today so I think jacket weather's officially over in our neck of the woods.

You probably bench, right? I would give that a rest and concentrate on full body lifts done in density blocks, preferably with odd objects rather than barbells. Think kegs, sandbags, natural stones. You'll up your conditioning and drop a little bulk in the tri's without overall strength suffering.

I'm with you on dropping the bulk but my lower back might disagree with you about lifting kegs, stones and sandbags:)

Believe it or not, the odd objects are not as hard on the back as you'd think. It's round back lifting for sure so you need to have proper tension in the core, but if you deadlift or back squat with a barbell you can bearhug squat or shoulder an odd object. Remember, you're working with lesser raw poundage simply cos the thing's such an awkward shape....

You know you don't lift weights when... This makes absolutely no sense to you  ;)

When I hear a discussion involving terms like 'bearhug squat' and 'round back lifting', I feel that I ought to be embarrassed and leave the room quietly...
