Today, my new Stanley Blacker jacket from eBay arrived. It was made for Macy's. I am guessing that this jacket is from 1969, as the union label says so. However, I think that the jacket's design may be older, as the lapels are rather thin. The lapels are 2 1/2" wide with the top button buttoned, and the vent in the back is 9" long. For some reason, in the picture the jacket appears to be very long, but the bottom of the jacket is at my knuckles. Interestingly, the jacket is fully lined. Oddly, there is no buttonhole on the lapel.
One thing I would like to note, is that it seems that the jacket isn't super warm, or heavy. The jacket does not feel like typical fall/winter weight jackets.

Designed by Stanley Blacker for Macy's Mens Store. Apparently the little lion wearing the hat and carrying the cane was put on Macy's clothes from the 60s to the mid 70s.
The Union label. It appears to be the 1968-1976 one, but it appears to have printed wrong, and the workers have written the date on. It seems to say 12/69, so I would assume that it's from 1969.
100% Camel Hair. I find that this label looks almost 50s.

It's really amazes me and is still surprising the things that survive and are out there to be found.
The one downside is the distances involved. Today's casual little jaunt was just over 300 miles. That's pretty typical of my day-trip outings, and goes up from there.

Thanks. I bought it, because of the epaulettes, which awaked my attention. It's a good symbiosis of sporty and elegant, I think.
It's only fairly priced S.Oliver-(Premium), but with higher quality (and "Made in Bulgaria"!), which you probably never will get from this brand in future. I'm still happy, that this coat found me.

Thanks Eddie very kind of you to say so. The jacket and cord trousers are just Marks and Sparks. The shirt is made by Luxire and the tie is an old 4 in 1 I found in a charity shop. The hat is an Akubra Stylemaster. As for the pullover it's one I made myself from a 1930's pattern. If you're interested I have the PDF of the pattern which you're more than welcome to have. I can also give you the link for the wool I used. It's just a cheap acrylic DK yarn which cost under a fiver.
