I know John Galt hasn't posted in several yrs but I've been going back thru this thread & enjoying his collection. Just had to bring this one of his forward...what a shot glass! Never seen one like it.

1950's shot glass set from the Federal Glass CO's Sportsman's Series. Each set came with a Canvasback, Grouse, Ring Necked Pheasant, & a Canada Goose each with a silver platinum rim. Besides shot glasses, sets were available in Rocks, Pilsners, & Tom Collins tumblers. I have Rocks & Pilsners also. I have seen a few wine goblets but have never seen a cordial, flute or shooter from the Sportsman Series.

It's bad luck to take one out & not have at least one shot. Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey.

Very cool Jack! I have some odd pieces of that found here and there.

Getting ready to fill (well ... maybe not fill) this Old Crow glass. Not sure of age. Pre-1987 I think as that was when National Distillers (since 1924) was bought out. Excuse the lousy pics.

That is a nice glass. I still see the decanters around from time to time, but not many glasses.

I used to buy singles but now I just try & buy sets still in the box. In that case the odds are pretty good that they haven't been used often or put thru a modern dishwasher with strong detergent.

Last post & I'll let this thread drop.

I have a partial set of Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) Cordial shot glasses. The EAPG era is thought to be from 1850 to 1910, some say as early as 1820. There have been over 1,000 patterns identified so chances are long for me to find others to fill out my set.

Vintage glasses with a flared rim were usually religious communion glasses. Modern juice glasses sometimes have a flared rim too.
Looks like churches are just ordering Flared Shot Glass Shooters in bulk from barware companies... just repackaging them at the church supply warehouse. :D

Seeing some of this style with screened liquor store addresses no zip code with 3 digit and four digit phone numbers on them and cartoons / pinups on them as well so I might try to pick up a couple of those!

Picked up these 8 whiskey glasses. Very much like the ones seen at the Ravenwood Bar in Raiders of the Lost Ark... (sorry, I didn't have any whiskey for these pics so... cloudy apple juice anyone? :D ) Now I need a Marion to drink me under the table! :D

Toothpick holders are often confused with shots glasses.

Check out this Ruby Flash EAGP whiskey glass. Ruby Flash was very popular during the tavern days of the 1890's.

Very cool! Love the scribed lettering design on them! I'll have to look for one...
Quite certain my set of 8 are not toothpick holders. :D
2 1/2 inches tall 1 1/4 width at bottom and 1 3/4 width at top.
1 1/2 oz. shaped inner compartment.
either way these shooters will hold liquid or wood :D

Bumping & expanding this thread to include vintage beer & whiskey glasses with my Wm F. Cody mug In my Cody collection. Made by Culver all the detail is in 22k gold. I attended a Cody/Wild West show collectors swap meet a few times in CO & the only other one I ever saw was there.
