Not military. The addition of the slim line from Alpha is recent. The pattern is less puffy and slightly longer. Making it a more trim and athletic/military look.

Did they simply taper down the lower half of the jacket, to fit an athletic build? Or is the entire jacket, shoulder, chest, hemline, and sleeves get narrowed down?

I could wear a jacket with a tapered waist, if the shoulders, back, and chest did not shrink. Even worse is when they make the arm skinny and even the arm hole is smaller.
