I wear my #8 shell cordovan service boots with just about anything. Pullup brown leather jacket, dark brown suede jacket, denim jackets, waxed jackets, etc. I think burgundy is one of the most versatile colors for footwear if you have a varied wardrobe, if not the most versatile.

Try it and see, I can't abide mixing black and brown leather, but imo cordovan goes with either.

Burgundy, especially number 8, goes with just everything from black to brown to navy and grey, even greens.

Definitely, lovely mix. Adds some nice intrigue to an outfit, No.8 still has those warmer brownish tones in there.
It goes with anything. You won't look like a fashion tryhard.
On occasion about 15 years ago I would sometimes wear tan Oxfords with a navy suit; at the time it was a sort of rakish move. Now it seems like the standard footwear for dark suits is tan and that combination is horrific default.

100% agree. The only jacket color I would avoid would be Burgundy, too matchy matchy.
