I opted out. I was discussing with the seller the first time round, when it sold for $1800 BIN and the buyer backed out. That was before he put oil on the minor marks and caused a stain on the lower back of the jacket. It looked a lot better without that. Coupled with concerns about the sizing I decided not to bid. But I do love the jacket.

I tend to not bid on any jacket going to auction. I have concerns surrounding the ethics of eBay auctions. Coupled with the fact that too often people get excited in their bidding, drive up the price, and then drop out. It wouldn’t be all too surprising to me if this is re-listed.

Plus I never once have snuck in a good deal on something - someone always wants it more than me. But that’s just my dumb ass

In the past few months a couple of nice Buco's were auctioned on ebay. I won one of them for $740. The highest bid on another one was $820. Both far below the usual BIN prices for Buco's. Same holds for a couple of Navajo buckles I bought. I see the auctions as an opportunity to get something for reasonable / market price.

I'm sure some deals can be had out there - particularly when the listings aren't good, etc. I think in the case of Buco, most people just know the name and list them for crazy prices, and the auctions show what people would actually pay.

For almost everything out there, people see an item and have ample time to assess what it is and determine what they'd pay for it. I think if you win every auction that your heart desires at that moment, you're probably the one spending the most.

It's just my opinion - I am often quite surprised at how high bidding ends on many many auctions - even the ones where the sellers schedules them to end at 11 AM on a Tuesday or something.

size 40 (?) Himel A-1. Still expensive but about $1000 off the new price, and seller is accepting offers
Himel are 3500 now?
Price reduced on this Californian. Many months ago this guy did not want to accept my offer for what I think is now higher than what he has it listed at.

Nothing going on ATM and I randomly saw this pop up and sell very quickly. Crazy cool pair of 1940s jeans with the moneymaker logo.

I have no idea how they determine the BIN price and if it was sold to someone who will sell it for double.

It does not matter. The cockamamie letter from Dave Himel to his tribe about how vegtan is stronger than chrome tan and how cotton thread while weaker is so much better than nylon is priceless.
I wonder what it reads on page two of that user guide. Do not use a macro lens to inspect its stitching. Keep clear of its moving parts. Do not put it in the microwave. LOL

Gorgeous excelled horsehide size 46 with esko zippers and columbus police patch.

I would buy this except for the length... $400 BIN and accepting offers
