Just thought I should share some pics of my first client in his suit. A lot of work went into this, details and construction and fit are great and to spec with what I think a quality suit should be. I'm into craftsmanship so I hope it shows.

I'll take more pics. It's a fitted looking back and the vest is the second style in my pattern lineup. I've been crazy focussed on getting the details right And can't wait to show you my first customer in a belted back.

It fits well. I hope we get to see some details later? Pleats, waistband, back, lining? There's a lot of pressure on Customer #1.

Dagwood, you look good in everything, but Matt set you up in a swell suit for sure.

Agreed

We need more photos to really see. I will say the jacket looks nice. I would like to see some cuffs. Longer shirt sleeves might do the trick. I like how the collar fits nicely in the space.

Something about the lapels looks c*nt*mp*rary. Width and straightness, I think. And the chest is rather drapey, no?

It all depends on what you intended - it does look very good!

It certainly looks like quality and the fit looks great from here.

Did you mention if this was supposed to be a vintage job, or a contemporary take, with vintage details?

I'll go out on a limb here and say, the jacket looks like a contemporary job with fat lapels and too-short arms... (sorry) Lapels too.

There's something that doesn't ring vintage about it- the height(over the proportion of the jacket) of the hip/skirt pocket/flap doesn't quite add up.
Little low, perhaps, when eyed-up with the length of the skirt... "waist height..?"

So... is this a contemporary or vintage effort.
Please tell.

More images of the suit Matt made for Dagwood. I'm very impressed with it. You will be, too. Some repetition in the images but, the more you see, the better. I made the images extra large to better show details. My appologies for the blurred shot of the back of the vest. I didn't get a shot of the back of the jacket. Another time, perhaps.

I bet the armholes on that coat are fantastic! Was the tie supplied, or is it the customer's choice?

Nix the pocket flaps. Shorten the length of the coat's skirt. Tilt the coat's breast pocket more severely. Swap the buttons for amber bakelite or celluloid. Vest has too high a gorge (currently at montel williams height). Seat of the pants too snug. Fabric too costume-y. Besides that everything is perfect.

What is the price range for such a suit (as I know it depends on the choice of fabric)?

I'm looking for a navy blue pinstripe and this cut looks very good.
