I really, really disliked the '70s while I lived it. Pants were itchy, shoes squeaked, and buttons popped off of shirts. And that was just the clothes!

I have hundreds of issues of Mother Earth News in this house (A back-to-the-lander publication) many of which I've reread since I was ten, and I have to say some of the pictures make me question the sanity of the universe. lol

Hair and clothing styles are amazingly powerful; sometimes, when looking at photos from the 70s, I'm almost convinced there was a separate gene pool for that decade!

I want to cry.... I just did a search on etsy for snoods... and 90% of the results were the horrible cowl/hoodie/scarf monstrosities....

let's all start a "real" snood trend...

In proper vintage protest, all of us gals that are into vintage should show 'em what a REAL snood is and how to wear it properly!

So ladies; dig out your real ones, vintage, newly made from a vintage pattern by* Cherry Red or Hamilton Honey- let's get going! If WE don't show 'em the real deal WHO will?

*In fair reference to HHoney and CherryRed:
I had some made for me by Cherry Red (6) all in different colors. HHoney my dear, I didn't know you made them when I was looking for them. BOTH of your snoods look super!

This is one of my newest favorites - the 1945 "Loop the Loop" snood. I used a hand dyed fingering weight wool in a shade called "visual purple" that is just like honey to a bear for me

I love the fun textures of the loops and of course the Lover's knot stitch.
