looks good. bulbous from the sides? from the front view it looks good. the side view is also good. the issue I have with the diamond bash is that it sometimes pushes down the side and creates what looks like a squashed hat to me. IMO.
otherwise i like it. were you able to get similar...
dimensions look good on you. what does the bash look like from the side and rear? diamond, center dent, c-crown etc? looks like you have done a nice job
people are stupid and would rather walk around in the elements becoming drenched from rain sleet, snow etc or burned by the sun than wear something that pop-culture does not label as "cool or hip" so long as it pairs well with you just wear it. most people probably wish they had a real hat.

Mary Ann emailed me some images of her wool hats (she does do men and ladies' hats)- looked pretty nice. price wise- drop her an email or call. she was very helpful
Quite happy to read that another lounger shares my concerns over fur. I have not done this yet, as I am currently broke, but, intend to ask a few custom makers about the wool issue. In terms of rigor; a number of western hats are made of wool- I figure, with enough stiffener and maybe a welted...
Just act normal. if you act nervous or walk around like you are in costume then you will feel that people are judging you. Ultimately, hats are practical, and I think, most people wish they owned one, they just don't have access to good hats and this is partly why people are not wearing them...
To me, the one on the left appears to have some taper, as the front bash leans inward- I have this issue on my Christy's adventurer. With a ruler against it, it is not plumb.
Has anybody here replicated the bash on the right with their feds? It is this discrepancy that prevents me from buying...
"I'm about 6'3" and 250 lbs.,"
I am 6'2" and 220 at the moment- I can tell you that the 2.5 inch brim on my christys looks a bit narrow.
Have you considered the Akubra campdraft? I think the Campdraft in silver belly or grey is your most versatile of options and unlisted by you.
the others...
No worries, your head is not mutated, I have the same problem, so either we share the same skull mishap or hats need higher crowns. I tend to go with the latter option.
NIce hat- I thought the bow was typicall on the left side of mens' hats. Not suggesting you are wearing it backwards, just that the bow looks to be on the opposite side.
speaking of backwards- while I was in Philly I saw a number of gentleman donning fedoras..but backwards!!! the snap...
glad i am not alone with these thoughts. Both hats appear small on you. Ditching the beard might help make your face look slimmer though. Buy a hat with more/ full crown or put a diamond bash in your fed iv in the interim
