I have a hard time getting my head around that. If your skin is touchy, the solution is to run more blades over it? I'm not disputing your experience, Matt, I'm just trying to figure it out.
I'd be afraid to try it. Every time I have shaved with a cartridge razor I have cut myself and had nasty burn afterward. I can count on one hand the number of times I have cut myself with the straight razor I use every day.
In return, I would ask whether this is an appropriate place to do so. My guess would be that his "most understandable reasons" were a negative answer to this question.
