    I called my local hatter, Hat & Sole, about the open crown Stetsons. They called Texas and were told that both hats are in next year's fall catalogue but are available as special orders now. I ordered the Strat in "cowhill", a brownish color. I'll report back on receipt.

    Great Black Sheep Che. Good luck to Bob on his adventure. I received a panama, a milan, and an Alpine Mist, and my wife received milan all in short order in the last month or so while Bob was making hats full time. That will have to hold me until he returns this fall.

    Bowlerman: I didn't specify that ribbon treatment--it was suggested by Bob--but it does appear to be the same except for the verticle chocolate ribbon in the bow. It works, though.

    Condolences to Douglas

    Being new here I didn't realize his son is on the forum. My sincere condolences. I read Mr. Durning's obituary in the N.Y. Times today and had no idea of the difficult circumstances he was born into or the horrific action he saw in WWII. He overcame it all.
