Ok, I know it is October and weather is cooling off. But I have been offline for almost a year now and just now able to get back on this site and ask this.
This past summer was HOT AS (input term you like here). For this reason, I decided to drop the vintage attire and just blue jean and...
Great mixers everyone.
Sorry my photos were deleted. I will take new ones and post again. Sadly I can not take new photos of the original condition since I have already repainted it.

When I go out wearing nice pants and a sport coat Everyone (even total strangers) ask 'What are you so dressed up for?" I always reply something like "I am just dressed that way a man should dress." Most the time I get a smile. some times I just get an "Oh."
Yes have already been told that. I am going to get a new ringer over the Easter weekend when I go to my mom's.
That or I may just go to the flea market where I got it and pic up a 2nd phone and use the ringer from it and keep the 2nd phone as an extension.
Tried that and many other suggestions form other sites, like the one mentioned above. Still no ring.
So either the coil is bad, or as some have said, frequency ringers don't work on today's systems.
Well, my moms neighbor used to work for Bell and now collects old phones, mostly WE. he has a box full of parts So I am going to see if he has a ringer. I want to keep the frequency ringer since they are so rare.
The only markings on the bottom are (written in white)
A/6 (I think it's a 6)

From what I see in my phone vs what I see online everywhere it is the original ringer.

And then I found THIS forum that said:
The guy on that site that has the same problem as me did this and it worked. I did this and still not working.
Here is the current set up. Just as described above.
I see solder points but not sure which wire goes where. I have tried both and still no ring.
Here is the front (closest to the bells) of the coil.
Here is the back.
Ok, according to this site: http://www.porticus.org/bell/telephones-500.html and the schematic he has, there should be 4 wires coming from the ringer unit to the network box. Red, Black, Gray, and Red/Gray. My model 500 only has a Red and Black. can anyone please post a photo of a ringer unit...
Correct.
From Wikipedia:
Originally, the 500 was available only in black and had a rotary dial with a black-painted metal finger-wheel. Black remained the most popular color throughout the model's production. Within a few years the Model 500 was available in a variety of colors, and the...
After many years of JROTC, CAP and life in the Air Force. I take pride in shinning my own shoes. However I would like to go to an old vintage shine booth some time and get them done.
Where I live (currently) we have to dial 9 to get an outside line. The rotatory does this just fine. I pick up the phone I hear the beep of the inter system. I dial 9 and when the rotatory gets back around to its stand by position I get a dial tone and dial out. So I wonder if this would work...
