These dresses are on hold

Yes, but you won't have to set your hair as much. Without a perm, my set only lasts a single day. With a perm, my set lasts 3 days. I could probably go 4 days if my scalp didn't start to get itchy after 3 days. So, with respect to having to wash and set your hair every night, it does save time.
Framesi, an Italian brand, is also really good for red, but in the States, it's salon-only. I would recommend Goldwell, if you can get it. It is the best red I've tried, but I don't have access to Schwartzkopf.
It depends on what brand you are using and it depends on if your hair has color on it now. Going from a 7 to an 8 isn't going to affect how red it is, but rather the numbers after the decimal point, usually. Some brands are just not well known for their red colors. I could help if I had more...
Miss Moonlight, I do my own perms because I'm a hairstylist. I've been doing at least one perm per week on clients for the last 15 years. I do not recommend doing it on yourself.
I've been wearing glasses since I was about 8 years old. I wore contacts briefly in middle school but I never got used to them. To be honest, I've never given a thought to how my makeup is with or without the glasses. I just slap on my makeup and go. Generally speaking, if I'm taking...
I gave myself a perm last week and I am in love!!!! I always felt that I couldn't have a perm because when I was dying my hair red, it was really damaged. Since I cut all the red off and have been dying it black and only the roots, my hair is much stronger. The perm did strip out the black...
Yup! It made me grin from ear to ear.
I don't know what was going on today, but I got compliments on my hair everywhere I went. AND just when I was thinking I needed to run home and wash and set it because I was too lazy to pin it up last night. (my new perm keeps a set looking decent, not...
Little girls always seem to like a vintage look. I've been volunteering at my kids' school once a week for several years and little girls always say nice things to me. Last week, one girl just said "Mrs. Gideon, you're so pretty".
Maybe it's a regional thing? I've always called Converse All Star shoes "Chucks" and I'm edging up to 40. The first person I knew to wear them was my older sister's boyfriend, who called them Chucks, around 1979-80ish.
In this case, I was clearly the outsider, so maybe they felt comfortable. In my grocery store, I am typically one of the few people (customer and staff) who speak English and I notice that I tend to be ignored alot. Maybe they were making fun of the white chick rather than making fun of the...
In this case, it was the man who pointed me out to his female companion. Then they both laughed. I'm not even very costume-y today, just a sheath dress and very modern looking Mary Jane heels.
I actually got pointed and laughed at today while doing the grocery shopping. That hasn't happened to me since I was in high school and wore a shaved head and Doc Marten boots.
