    Modern wedding gowns

Thank you! I became a little obsessed with getting everything 30s, but I'm glad it worked (had to sew myself in!). The florist didn't do a good job of 30s flowers though. Far too tasteful!

    Vintage Hair Crisis

stocking top? Hmm, not sure if the side bits are too short (nice cut, though! Awkwardly very, very modern) but one of the easiest styles to do when you're starting out (well, it was for me) is the stocking top. You have to have thick hair for this. The finished effect is like a smooth victory...

    Modern wedding gowns

by the way - since it's my avatar - that's me wearing all original 1930s... managed to find an unworn 30s dress. Lot cheaper than buying a new one, I must say. My veil cost 50p!

Top Baby Names from 20's thru 40's

I am fascinated by names. The link below is a brilliant resource - don't think anyone's posted it yet. It shows you the changing popularity of names over time in the USA with a great graph (though it's slow to load). Hours of fun in the office (!)...

    BRITAIN'S LAST WITCH TRIAL (1944)

Aw, my Dad tells me I'm descended from one of the Pendle witches - always used to say it was the last witchcraft trial in Britain. Now they've stolen my thunder! :-( Interesting, though!

What do you do for Living?

Television... the root of all evil TV producer/director - mainly history and arts documentaries. I love it. I get to use all my interests and hobbies, and learn lots more along the way. My vintage collection makes it on-screen reasonably regularly too! Gosh, there are some interesting jobs...

    Pin-up Name

Hey, that is really weird -- that was my actual family's surname in the 1930s (they had if hyphenated with something else, and they all changed it later on) -- and that is the family I've so far portrayed. Well, perhaps I should stick with that then!

    Soaring Ebay Prices!

Oh, and of course, foreigners bidding. Exchange rate means that UK buyers are getting dollars really cheap at the moment... so things often seem less expensive to us.

    Soaring Ebay Prices!

auctions are designed to get the adrenaline flowing -- that's the point of them! But ebay allows you to observe what's going on much better, so you see the fluctuations much more -- time of year, fashion, what the celebs are wearing, whether people are busy buying Christmas gifts, whether a...

I don't think I've ever met anyone who likes that combination before... Is that later Wittgenstein, then? I'm afraid I'm an Emmanuel Kant girl every time. None of the French stuff for me, oh no.

    Displaying your goods~

Decoeyes - their stuff is lovely but they only make them from time to time. They ONLY sell on ebay at the moment (I asked them) and the heads generally go around the $250 mark - though it depends how nice it is. Might be more....
