Anyone know a tailor in the LA area who can do a bespoke nehru suit (not a tux, a suit)? Thanks.

Laulhere, the last french beret maker

I don't wear them myself, but I though some here on the Lounge might find this interesting: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-02-17/last-beret-maker-in-france-fights-for-survival-in-hollande-test.html

    NY Times: Street Hats

The NY Times on the street photo section was on men today and had a nice display of hats in addition to weirder fashion trends: http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2013/03/31/fashion/31STREET.html?ref=fashion

FS: "Vintage" Optimo of Chicago, Size 7.5

I've decided to cull the herd and am putting up one of my best, little worn hats. I'm selling it because it is too big for me and no matter how I stuff the sweat a slight breeze will blow it off my head and tilting my head makes it slide over. I am a 7 5/16 so 7 1/2 is just too big so I've...

    Floppy Fedora from the 1920s?

Anyone have an idea on this style? Like when it's from? I'm having Art Fawcett make up a replica, but I thought some of the scholars here might know something about it:

    Esquire's "Big Black Book"

During my travels last week I saw the new Esquire on the shelf and it mentioned hats so I picked it up. There does seem to be a movement afoot to make the hat more mainstream. There was an article on "Stop Hating the Hat" and the 3 archetypes for wardrobe they picked all wore fedoras. So...

    Repairing an unreeded sweat

I have a great old hat I bought on EBAY but it has an unreeded sweat which is coming loose. Is it best to have it replaced with a new reeded sweat? Or is there anyone who can still sew one of these back on. The sweat itself is still in good shape. Thanks.

Return of the Broad Brimmed Hat

In another sign that hat interest is picking up the LA Times ran this article today. It's interesting because it discusses brim size: http://www.latimes.com/features/image/la-ig-hats-20110313,0,6801782.story

Hats on ABC 7 in LA

ABC morning news here in LA had a little feature on the hats and featured Barons Hats and Goorin. Basic, but nice to see. Had a nice slant for ladies too: http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/consumer&id=7684660

    Costumey?

I've run into a bit of an issue lately. I have a hat by Art Fawcett which is similar to the fedora Bogart wore in the Maltese Falcon (the one in my avatar). I also have a nice Aquascutum trench coat. My wife says that wearing them together is too much like a costume. Would any of you weigh...

    Maltese Falcon (1931)

Since I have the hat (my VS Dingus) and I have the MJK black bird (the real Dingus), I thought I should have a good copy of the movie. The deluxe DVD edition has the 2 earlier versions from 1931 and 1936. 1936 is a disaster. They tried to make it a comedy. 1931 is a great hat movie. The...
