Basic personal possessions of the 1930's American male

I've just moved into a home built in 1934 and the closets are teeny tiny as well as there being no extra closets for linen storage and such. I have to imagine less stuff needed less storage space. Making great use of my trunks and cedar chest for linen storage now though ;)

What Have You Acquired From Family?

Great grandmother's cardigan, which I have on right now :) Great grandmother's cedar chest, great great grandmother's engagement ring, another great great grandmother's civil war era (actually hidden from Gen. Sherman) silver tea pot. Grandmother's wedding china. I'm sure there's more that I...

Personal Hygiene during the golden era? did some people only bath once a week??

Yes! When my son and his friends were around 12 they thought that soaking themselves in Axe was the cure all. Blech.

    Former POW tells his story

I'll have to watch this at home. Years ago my dad did a vhs interview/story telling of both my great uncle and my grandfather recounting their stories of being POWs of the japanese for 3.5 years. I can't bring myself to watch it but I know that it's fascinating.

Everyday Fellows of the Golden Era?

My paternal grandpa. I'm fairly certain this has to be after he returned from WWII. He was a p.o.w. for 3.5 yrs and his family thought that he was dead.

Your favourit team in FIFA 2010?

Exactly. If you heard them more when something interesting happened it would be one thing. However hearing that constant drone is just silly.

Your favourit team in FIFA 2010?

Ahh, see I hadn't heard of that. Makes sense. Miss Neecerie, I've found a website that broadcasts the games. (shhhh, don't tell ;) )

Your favourit team in FIFA 2010?

Well, obviously USA but beyond that I'd like to see Mexico and Brazil do well. And I really don't appreciate them running 2 games at the same time, this bouncing back and forth is for the birds ;)

    Cute Vintage-y Shoes

I found the blue version of these super fantabulous shoes a few months ago at an outlet store for 18 bucks and found a pear green version at the same store the other day for 8 bucks. I adore them and they're comfy. The brand is Wanted shoes. Shoes!

    When you're not dressed vintage...

Paddy, you still make a much better presentation in your non vintage garb than 9/10 of the folk out there.

    Cute Vintage-y Shoes

Miss Bella Hell, I have those black payless ones (on right now as a matter of fact) and adore them. Keep telling myself I need to go back and get a back up pair for when these get worn out.
