why don't you just buck up and go to a nicer place that you feel comfortable about leaving your clothes. I'm sure it would be less money to upgrade than replace.
when I was a child, we didn't have a TV for about 3 years because our old set broke and we never replaced it.
But if you don't have a TV because you're trying to live an antique life, keep in mind that people back then did have a TV, only they called it Radio.

but if you refer to the resturant as "Classy" then to me you might as well being wearing jeans and a T-shirt. Perhaps "fine dining" would be a better choice?
