    Absinthe again legal

They serve Absinthe with champagne and call it a 'Hemingway' at The Edison in Los Angeles. Sheer blasphemy and it tastes like kerosene that way (but you really must check out The Edison). In Canada, it's been available in liquor stores for years, from the cheap Czech stuff to the nice...

    Beware of Manholes!

Y'gotta die of something, don'tcha? [huh] I live in a modern city with separate sewage and stormwater systems. I'd never go into a sewer. It's cleaner than a kiddie pool down there for sure.

Stills from a film I'm making

I'm on your mailing list. We know some more of the same people. :) The film is not yet finished, but those going to the QM Event will have a chance to see a trailer for it on the big screen!

    The Black Dahlia

Finally got around to seeing it. I was prepared to like it and to give it a chance, but it really was awful. The only thing I liked was the police station interior set. Not enough to see a movie for to be sure.

    Thoughts on ....."My Space".

If it weren't for the internet, I'd have never had watched a Brad Paisley video... as brought to my attention by someone I met online and later in person. ;) See ya in November, MK!

    If You Made A Movie

WHAT would the story be AND the genre? A film noir about an out of work plumber, Bernie, coerced into a life of crime. WHO would be the central (main) characters? see above, and add in some shady criminal types. WHERE would it take place? Palliser City WHEN would it take place? "In a past...

Show us your Vintage Office Supplies.

I don't have much of an office set up yet, but I do have this swell old calendar: Supposedly used in the film "The Sting", but I can't verify that. It's very cool, but the paper is so brittle, I've had to seal it away and have made new 'leaves' to put in it. And I have my...

Golden Age experience in Los Angeles?

Union Station is a very good call - plus that and the Bradbury were used in "Bladerunner", which is still very 'noir'. These are all great suggestions - keep them coming!

Golden Age experience in Los Angeles?

Where does one go today, other than Long Beach and the QM to 'experience' a bit of the Golden Age in Los Angeles? There's Musso & Frank's, and the Pig 'n' Whistle, all Grauman's theatres and such on Hollywood Boulevard, but what else is there? What's a 'must see'/do list for a visitor with...

    Lady Adventurers, Women of Mystery!

Wow! I guess I'm not that good at connecting the dots - I thought maybe two people came up with Blunderbasoons via parallel evolution. Where'd you get the breeches?

Share your own art here :)

third time's the charm... (?) This is the only thing I have that's family friendly enough to post, apparantly. It's some rejected t-shirt art that wasn't copyright-infringey enough, if you can believe it. I won't say what they went with instead.

    Lady Adventurers, Women of Mystery!

Well done! More ladies should be seen in breeches away from equestrian events.
