Sorry about the weird selfies. It's hard to get a good shot without bringing the camera to the eye which would mess with the fit. Anyway, I hope they're helpful.
Your first photo is of my jacket. I got it through Thurston Bros. this spring.
As to your questions: buttons, pockets, side tabs, Vs on the front - the jacket has a lot going on. I'd second the caution about contrast stitching. Denim versions usually have straw or golden stitching and I...
Jan, I wanted to ask about the modifications you made to your sweater. How did you go about making the loops on the collar? Has having them there stretched or caused the sweater to go out of shape?
Thanks,
David
Ha - I am very familiar with this line of thought.
Thanks all for the kind wishes everyone. It's killing me that this is going to hang in the closet for the next few months. It was almost 80 degrees today.
Please excuse the poor photos. I will make an effort after a few months of break-in to get some better shots.
It's very, very nice. I have nothing but kind words for the folks at Insurrection. Highly recommended.
I requested a particular tartan in Strome weight. Aero came back and said...

Anybody know what these are? They sure look warm.
Ran across them here:

Thanks, all, for your thoughts.
Unlined brown suede sounds pretty good, actually. Objectively, it's probably the best choice for the style and how I would wear it.
My particular first-world dilemma is: I do want something in Aero's seal goat. If it's not the type 3, that probably means...
Hi all,
Just hanging out, waiting for my 30s half belt to get made/delivered. Already considering another jacket. It's not a problem - I can quit anytime I want.
Anyway, has anyone seen, tried-on or acquired the Aero type 3 jean jacket? What can you tell me about it? Especially how it...
Thanks, Fanch. I'm as surprised as you. I hope they don't get any longer!
Wade suggests going the full 29" to allow for creasing so that's what I'm going to do. I'll be back with pictures in a few months.
Edward - it's the chrome-tanned steerhide. It's like a suit of armor!
The 44 is just hitting my shoulders perfectly and by perfectly I mean it's just the tiniest bit too tight in a way I know will stretch and break-in to where it should be. I fear a 42 might leave some shoulder poking out...
As it is now, the back is just over 26.5".
The following links are details of the sleeve. The sleeve length on the test jacket is about 26.5". The ruler is poking out of the sleeve an additional 2" touching the top knuckle of my thumb, just where I'd like the cuff to hit. Thoughts...
Here is the back:

Is this a good length, or should I come up half an inch?
