    Post New Hats Here!

Wow that's a great hat Bob! A bit darker than the pictures at hatsdirect but still very nice! If you want to try some different bashes you could have a go at giving it a diamond crown. /Niels

Could you tell me if this Fedora looks right on my head please?

Paul, it's a great hat and it suits you well. I have had some problems with pictures of myself that made my hats look huge. This was mainly because I was taking the pictures in a mirror or by holding the camera out at an arms length, which messed up the perspective. Once I set the camera up...

    MEN of the LOUNGE

I just thought I would add this one of me. Not vintage, but probably as close as I will ever come. Its in the hats section too, but I hope it won't be considered a double post [huh] /Niels

Akubra Federation and Sydney Crown Heights

Federation snap brim The Fed doesn't come with a lot of snap but there is some (when my Fed was new and stiff the brim actually gave an audible snap). In the end I turned the brim down a little more using steam, but this is how my Fed looked before that (completely dry bashed). Edit: Of...

    Short crown.

If you aren't sure which crown height works best you could get an open crowned hat. Then as you shape it you can lower the crown gradually until you find a height that suits you. /Niels

Just Ordered...My SECOND Fedora! (Carbon Grey Akubra Federation)

Congrats on the next hat! With regards to shaping the brim I just used a little steam on my Federation and turned it down by hand. It settled on the new shape after about 30 seconds. /Niels

    First hat?

Hi Nigel and welcome! I think you will have to be lucky to find a decent vintage hat in your price range. However IMHO, if you just want to try the whole look before committing to a more expensive hat, then a nice wool felt might be a good option. Oh and from my own experience with a...

Yet another first time Federation owner

That is a nice colour for a Fed! :eusa_clap Being shaved on top I have had the same trouble with the plastic liner sticking to the top of my head, but making a little "dome" in the crown helped a lot. I did have to use steam to get it to stay up though. /Niels

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Grey Federation I've been trying on different covers with a leather jacket for the last couple of days. I think the Fed works pretty well, and if I press it down a bit it doesn't even fly off when commuting through Copenhagen on bicycle :) /Niels
