The new MLB channel has been replaying Ken Burns' Baseball documentary. While it is not a "movie" in the traditional sense, there are a lot of great hats in the photos and footage from the early years. It is amazing to see so many hats at those ball games.

You are indeed correct about there not being carriers in Albuquerque. I am currently in Newport, RI, half-way through a 10 week temporary assignment. FYI, the two carriers in the back ground are USS Forestal (CV-59) and USS Saratoga (CV-60). Both have been decommissioned.

After smoking for over 30 years my dad spent his 50th birthday in the E.R. short of breath with chest pain. He has not had a cigarette since and turned 60 last month. I'm sure you will have no problem giving 'em up.

I have a khaki cover for my combination cover, but the elastic is black as opposed to being the same color as the rest of the cover. Perhaps there is someway to make it look right, but it would take some work.

If your Great Uncle was Alfalfa Bill, I'm guessing the picture is circa 1940. Thank you for sharing this great photo. I love the vest, tie tucked into his shirt and his coat, not to mention the hat.
