Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I've last posted and, alas, it's due to selling several of my fedoras. So far, I have three already posted and three additional to come. Please take a look. Thanks!
Decent Montecristi that I got from Panama Bob a while back...
I find that a panama goes with about any outfit, casual or dressy, as long as it goes with your face. The brim size problem isn't going to change with any outfit, if it's too wide it will make you feel funny in any outfit you wear.
Here are some pics of a casual panama:
The last one...
here's a good pic of Hopkins in a nice panama:
I'm starting to feel inspired to get a nice panama. All the ones I have are cheap and have completely lost their shape.
I was watching Hannibal earlier today and was admiring the style of Hopkin's character Lecter and noticed his nice Panama hat. I thought I would google around for a pic of it and come to this article...
nice hats everone!
Hat envy is a terrible shortcoming of mine!
Well, for our thanksgiving service I wore my re-worked Dobbs along with my new pea coat, which I love:
I find here in Georgia, where it's pretty humid, if the temperature gets over around 70-72 degrees it becomes too hot for a felt hat and I get a sweaty head. Once the temp drops below that, I can usually handle a felt with no issues.

ah I see what you're saying.
I hate that as well. I think if it's a flaw in the product or false advertising then the customer shouldn't have to pay for return shipping. But... this is the world we live in.
there wasn't anything else wrong with the hat apart from it being "stiff," like so many other lower-quality hats and all of Stetson's cowboy hats. If the hat was torn up or broken or something, then I could see how it was Miller's fault. Just because the hat doesn't quite match up to your...
it doesn't look like Miller did anything wrong- they have their policy posted on their website and if you can't deal with it then buy from somewhere else (which I'm sure you'll do). They certainly aren't at fault for Stetson's poor quality hat either.
Of course, the "store credit only" refund...
quite a conundrum
maybe if you tried to wipe the sweat down with a baby wipe or a oxy pad or something before or after you use it, it will remove the sweat/oil/skin cells off the band for the next time you wear it.
I bet switching to grosgrains ribbon as your sweatbands would help too, but I...
