    Post New Hats Here!

Here's me in the Borsalino I got from Garrett. I know it makes me look a little older than 39, but I love it anyway. http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr79/pplepic/P1000952.jpg

    Post New Hats Here!

I seem to remember that the little red cross pin was given by the Red Cross for blood donations way way back. (And I go way way back...)

    Mamma mia

The fringed benefit that escapes you is the three dots you finished with. If you watch the movie, they explain what ... means. I like musicas all right. When I'm with my wife, as mentioned, I watch what she wants to watch out of respect. In exchange, she watches a lot of stuff I watch...

    Mamma mia

I'v been looking on the Internet and the closest thing I've seen is The Safari Edition by Brent Black starting at $500. Maybe that's the one.

    Mamma mia

I may be poor, but I think I have good taste. In the movie Mamma Mia, I think the hat worn by Pierce Brosnan is a beautiful rollup Panama. It's darker than I've seen, but still...Anybody know?

Dobbs I have a Dobbs just like that with a 2" brim and love it. It's a Twenty 6-7/8 Long Oval and looks and fits great. Looks great on me and looks great on you. At least I think so.:D

Borsalino from Garrett <a href="http://s471.photobucket.com/albums/rr79/pplepic/?action=view&current=P1000952I just received my Borsalino Diamante Twenty-Five from Garrett, who practically gave it to me. Beautiful hat in great condition and soft as butter. However you bash it, it stays until...

How not to look like Indiana Jones?

Indy I have a brown leather "flight" jacket and a brown hat that is close enough to Indy. I had the foresight to anticipate Indy jokes, so I never wear that combination together. When I wear my Western hat however, I just smile at people, give a little wave and say, "Howdy." So far it works...

    CHURCHILL HATS

Box I have a black Churchill hat box, but I got it at a flea market with a dandy Biltmore hat inside. The box is good condition however, and has a leatherette belt. Maybe someday I'll run into a Churchill hat to put in it.:)

    Feathers in your hatbands?

Feathers? I takes them as they come. I have two hats with feathers and I haven't removed them. The others came to me without, so I haven't added anything. Personally I don't care for those little Stetson pins etc that come with many hats. They go into the funky jewelry box.

Brims - How do you like them

Brims up Then again, maybe those old politicians had the brim up because they rode around a lot in those open vehicles with the wind in their smiling faces. I wore mine brim up today and I think I looked cheery even if I didn't feel that way.

OK one dumb ?=are all felt hats crushable as

Great Video That charming woman on the youtube site gives an excellent example of rolling and unrolling a Panama hat. I like my Stetson Panama, but there's no rolling. It feels as if it had two cans of hairspray applied to it. That part I don't like. I always thought a Panama should be soft...

Brims - How do you like them

Roosevelt et al. Brim down looks a bit more dignified (and if you're a private eye) downright de rigueur. Looking back, the lighthearted guys like Jack Oakie, and his generation always wore their hats brim up, while serious detectives like Philip Marlowe always wore them brim down. I think...

    Borsalino - 6 7/8

Too late? Hi Garrett, if you still have the borsalino 6 7/8 I'd be glad to pay $25 for it. I can send a money order or something. I like the 40's Stetson too, but being not only poor, I have to deal with my wife on these things. Carl in Sacramento, former Portland boy. I still have a...

    Resistol Cowboy Hat

At the flea market I couldn't pass up a virtually unworn Resistol Hat W32 Tall Pine XXX Beaver. I coughed up $20 which included the box. I know darn well it had to cost at least $150 or maybe considerably more. I've never worn a cowboy hat, but at our flea market lots of people do, so I'm going...

    Alpine, Tyrolean, Bavarian Hats

Thanks Bob. You made my day, even if the thought of wearing a hat dripping a deer's blood doe'sn't sound to great. But it makes sense. I love those forest greens for hats, etc., but I understand that at one time, in France, people who went bankrupt had to wear a green hat. I guess I could...

    Alpine, Tyrolean, Bavarian Hats

It's driving me crazy, but I can't find anybody who knows if there is a purpose to the boar's brush often seen on these hats. Maybe it's just decoration, like a feather. If any lounge lizards know, please post. Thanks.
