I'm a fan of purple, and I have been in the search of a tie in which it is its base colour. I have not yet run into one.
PM me if you have offers!
Thanks!
These have a country last which means that they are at least half a size larger than UK10.
Virtually unused. Too bulky and big for me. 175 EUR, retail around 215 EUR
This picture is a still from a 30's Finnish film. Doesn't it look like he's wearing knitted trousers? The trousers don't have center creases, which would make it even more probable.
Has anyone else run into something like this?
I was looking online for fabrics and one of them caught my eye. It is an English tweed fabric, good quality and all.
The fabric weight, however, is around 480 grams / meter, about 17 oz. Is that too heavy, thick, for trousers?
Bookster seems to classify 450 grams / metre as "medium weight...
Just got a pair of 20's patent leather and cloth dress boots, but the patent leather has dried. Is there something I can use to nourish it? Does it need a special wax? I don't think you can use polish on it...
Guesses on age? The lining is a rough fabric, not flannel.
PS. Just found this from a 1937 leaflet. http://digi.lib.helsinki.fi/pienpainate/secure/showPage.html?action=page&type=lq&conversationId=6&id=347549&pageFrame_currPage=6&pageFrame_currFrame=2
It says that it's for engine drivers. The...
I'd be glad to have a few pairs handy and a few of my shoes could really use some proper laces.
I'm looking for those thin flat ones you usually see in old shoes. Length? Well, all lengths are welcome, but if you happen to have a pair in 120cm that would be a dream come true!
Send me a message...
The ones with three buttons on the front? Like this?
Well I couldn't, atleast for relatively cheap.
Then I found a light 100% cotton pique polo shirt such as this. I glanced on it and it suddenly came to me. An idea!
I bought the shirt, which cost me 50 cents at a thrift store and then I...
So. I'm looking for a brown 30's style (wide brim, open, wide crown) or actual 30's lid. I'm open to suggestions.
I'm looking for pairing it with this suit
I'm on a tight budget but please make offers!
Thought you girls would like to see some vintage shoes (who wouldn't?)
These are from a museum here in Finland. They are from the 20's and 40's with some exceptions
I am offering you a pair of dress boots from a known Swedish shoemaker J.F. Nordlöf from Göteborg (Gothenburg).

When I saw this I was immediately in love! A knit double breasted waistcoat.. so so beautiful.
This is from 01.01.1934 finnish Atlas-catalog. You can browse it here...
Found this at a thrift store for about 20€ which is a lot for me, but since it was such a rare looking piece I thought I'd have it.
It's got that sort of half belt to it and it is not fully lined. Only in the sleeves and shoulders. There are no makers marks whatsoever. Lining...
Okay, this is a Borsalino Alessandria. It is colorcoded as Olivo and it does indeed look Olive coloured. It has a very thin bound brim.
The ribbon as you can see from the pictures below is the same colour.
Size tag says 6 which I think means 59cm in circumference. Atleast I am a size 7...
Hey all,
I saw this Borsalino at a vintage clothing store a while ago but I didn't buy it. So now I'm seeking re-assurance.. What do the modern borsalino liners look like?
How else can I tell that if it's something I ought to get?
To me it looked like a vintage one, but I'm not that familiar...
I've been in the search for these things for quite a while now. They are nowhere to be found, and when searching on ebay, I can't find new nor vintage ones.
I see them a lot on vintage pictures and magazines. I'm pretty sure they're leather. Am I wrong? Are they suede?
I'm talking about the...
