Hi there, i'm looking at a more wallet friendly pair of A-10s and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the us authentic and us wings A-10s?

Lear = those look 'light' in colour compared to mine. Unless the flash has really lit them up, they look russet (mine are seal).

Here's a couple of photos of my ELC A10 gloves, had them for a couple of years but not worn them much so still need a lot of breaking in...........mine don't have the AAF logo on them which was an option at the time of purchase.

Those are great looking! How much do those go for?

They were £89.99. Colour is brown. Being in UK, I didn't have any shipping costs etc.

I've just looked on the Eastman website, and they appear too have only XL in stock.

According to their way of measuring the hand, I should've gone with a size Large. After perusing FL, I took the gamble of going with XL. Glad I did, although maybe I just have an oddly shaped hand.

Nice. I think the colour looks completely different! I don't care about historic accuracy, but never realized the colours varied so much between manufacturer.

On the train back from central London last night, carefully taking these A-10 gloves out of my bag. Right at that moment a woman tapped my knee, to ask what I was listening to on my iPod. Anyway, the upshot was that I chatted away, realized my stop had quickly arrived, and rushed for the door.

The last thing I remember - before the wailing, tears and gnashing of teeth - was the train departing with my gloves still on the seat.

But... today, I just discovered that someone had actually handed them in :eusa_clap

Despite what you hear, there are lots of good people out there.

Ha, ha, I'm a middle-aged slob, listening to boring speech, not music. She was probably just being friendly.

It's been just over a year since I got the A-10 gloves. Coated them with a few thin coats of RM Williams Saddle Dressing. I like this stuff for casual leather. Doesn't smell, rot leather or go rancid. It's also fairly thick stuff. This means the colour has darkened slightly. However, judging by the much lighter colour under the flap of my treated Mulberry bag, it's sunlight/heat on the RM goop that really darkens. I might leave them out on the lawn during a few hot summer days.

Yes they are great gloves, had mine probably 18 years. Superbly comfy and keep hands nice and warm.
As I said in another post I had these 1 yes 1, day before I snagged the knit cuff on my watch. I thought they looked much better without the logo, I am not a re enactor so do not need to be historically correct in any detail. They also look what I call more, 'Wearer Friendly'. You will know what I mean if you wear things because they are just good quality.
Not sure what hide they are, look like goat but do not have that 'goat' feel about them.

I hadn't really thought about the white logo until they arrived. Never did like the 'army' wording though. Luckily, it started to crack and flake a little over the year. I was able to rub it all out by fingernail alone. No damage done to the leather. Maybe the RM dressing loosened it.

I'm almost certain that they're (Eastman) goat. Like you, I ain't bothered about any kind of accuracy. They were simply the best heavy gloves for FQHH jacket I could find.

A question: does the slight shininess eventually go away? Is it the way goat is, or do the manufacturers put a temporarily protective coat of something on, to keep them looking pristine from the factory?

I've got a pair of Eastman A-10 gloves which I use on two wheels & four (with the hood down). They are now nice and supple & give enough feedback from the wheel but keep my hands from freezing...took a little bit of breaking in mind. Sizing runs true with these gloves too. A+++

Mine are certainly a lot less shinny than on purchase (having been exposed to the elements), pretty certain they're goat too (comparing them with a goat skin M422A)

Just checked Eastmans website. Says made from goat, mine were never that shiny but have a nice worn patina without looking 'worn out'. A pic maybe a bit later.
But Gulp!!!! £109!!! I know my gloves are getting on a bit but thats nearly twice what I payed.

Yep, the best I could find that weren't too dressy.

Their look improves with age, just like an Aero... and just like me

They were £89.99 in November 2011. Hence my relief at their recovery.

Here are my A10s. Though getting on a bit, they have not been worn excessively, as you can just about see the brown finish has rubbed off in some places revealing a black base colour to the goat.
I have folded the cuff back so you can see the warm liner and labelling.
